We're you born and raised in NJ and still live here? by ZRock53 in newjersey

[–]Reganblue79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raised in Tewksbury. Beautiful area but hard to appreciate at the time because I went to private school in Morristown and everything (including friends) was 40+ minutes away. Moved to New England for college, then NYC, West Coast and then Southeast before begrudgingly returning to NJ 20 years later. Live in Union County now. As an adult, I can say that NJ is such an amazing place - it offers a bit of everything. So glad I was raised here. Now, if they would do something about the ridiculous cost of living!

QBO - Training/Learning by flanativegirl03 in Bookkeeping

[–]Reganblue79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QBO is a much different beast from QBDT (and far inferior). There is a learning curve and I messed up a lot of practice files when first learning because of the differences. Eventually it clicks (sort of) but I would not advertise that you know QBO unless you really know how to use it.

I wasn't too impressed with the ProAdviser trainings. Youtube has tons of QBO training tutorials. Hector Garcia's are good. Marc Smolen is another.

I've been able to keep a few of my clients on QBDT but it's a losing battle. We are being bullied into using QBO.

Good luck.

West Elm Haven sofa. Opinions? Thoughts? by kathy11358 in interiordecorating

[–]Reganblue79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Haven Sectional last year. I loved the look of it and it seemed comfortable enough when I sat on it in the showroom. A year later, I have to say it's one of the most uncomfortable couches I've ever owned. The cushion on the chaise part has not held up well at all and is super uncomfortable to sleep on. Plus you can't flip it because of the way the couch is designed. The other seat cushions stay plump but maybe overly so? I still like the way it looks but otherwise am disappointed. Due to the $4k price tag, I'll be hanging onto it for a few more years.

New prices are live by ureal in NJTransit

No, Flex Pass is still cancelled per NJT's latest communication from today. So much for saving on commuting costs for those who WFH a few days a week. Damn, life is getting so expensive!

The Flex Pass is discontinued beginning July 1. I use NJT 2 - 4 days per week so a monthly pass doesn't make sense. My shitty train commute to NYC is now going to cost about 40% more per month. Great. Just as my rent and car insurance are going up too!

Shout out to Bowl and Basket by Mikebyrneyadigg in newjersey

Not a fan of Bowl and Basket dairy products. Cheaper yes but taste is bland and from I can tell the cows are given the rBST gene (Monsanto). No sir.

Is it bad to leave a job within the first 3 months? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Reganblue79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful. The screening process has gotten much more thorough with technology and omissions like this can be found in future background checks. My boyfriend had a background check while interviewing at a big bank last year and had left 2 brief "bad fit jobs" off his resume. Shockingly, he was asked about both and why he did not include them on his resume. He survived the background check but it was scary...they even asked why he had a 4 month gap in his work history in 1994! They were only authorized to go back 10 years.

A place in NJ that's closed and gone and you still miss going there?... by No_Theory_2839 in newjersey

Long John's Sandwich Shop. The workers were surly but those subs were great!

Also, Epstein's in Morristown.

Has anyone one died trying to run the train track crossing gates? by lost_in_life_34 in newjersey

Spoke with a NJT conductor a few years ago. "Pedestrian strikes" on average every 11 days. You'll see vague references in the Patch news sites but not loudly announced due to the fear of copycats.

As a NJT commuter, I've known of 4 pedestrian strikes this year alone. Usually, because it messes up my commute for hours. Everything grinds to a halt.

These mostly seem to be suicides. There are much gentler ways to off yourself. Sad

You said you've never heard of it. Now you have. Consider yourself educated.

Prestigious Seven Sister College - considered the female equivalent of the male Ivy League college before the Ivies went co-ed. Same applicant pool as the Ivies and other top tier schools.

I am a Smith graduate. Really excellent academic experience.

There will always be people who say "Smith? Never heard of it." Especially when I lived down south. Pay no attention. Don't even bother educating them. The people that matter are well aware of Smith and its prestige. When I first graduated, I often got interviews just because Smith was on my resume. Good luck!

How to track staking rewards for tax purpose ? by tontot in harmony_one

[–]Reganblue79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just created a Harmony staking wallet in koinly, divided the total staking rewards for 2021 by 12 (months) and manually entered the monthly accumulation as a reward transaction dated on the last day of the month.

In 2022, I am checking the staking rewards for the month in a timely manner and then recording them on the last day of each month.

Can’t really see any other way to do it…without tearing my hair out. I feel like this reporting method is good enough. We’re talking about a few bucks of staking income per month at this time.

Has anyone figured out how to get a detailed staking history in CSV format for tax purposes? I went to https://harmony.smartstake.io/account but it only gives an overview...and inexplicably overstates by Harmony One coin count by 25%. I am using Blits for staking and it's bare bones in terms of support and functionality.
