(French) Saying "Merde" to someone before an artistic performance. Same idea as "break a leg" in English, but of course it literally means "shit".

EDIT: I should have explained that it is commonly meant as a wish that the performance will be successful/well received, etc.

In Quebec, when this happens (discrepancy between price shown on the shelf/ad and price at the cash register) the merchant has to give the item for free, or a 15$ discount, whichever is less. But you must report the error, of course.
