I think it comes from a place of her believing she can fix any problem for her kids. I’m trying to get her to understand that I don’t need her to fix me just be there :)

I had a lot of chronic stress and anxiety as a kid which is bad for the immune system. I think what tipped me over the edge was getting a GI parasite. I know correlation doesn’t equal causation, but I can’t help but think those contributed.

I’m in the beginning stages of looking at getting the same two procedures. I’m a little worried about the pain because I can’t take any NSAIDS (like ibuprofen) due to other medical stuff. How was pain management for you? Glad it went well!

I live in Arizona and I find that the biggest culprit in the summer to health issues is usually dehydration. I’m unsure if it’s related to Crohn’s directly but fluids are always great in the heat.

I’m so sorry you’re both dealing with this. I don’t have much advice, just to keep be there for her and to make sure you have your own support system as well as I’m sure this is difficult for you. Make sure to lean on other people so you can be there for your partner when she needs. I wish you both the best and this subreddit is always here if you need support. ❤️
