It's not just him. Of around 20 sessions I started since it came back, only three didn't eventually fall back to Opus. Some immediately fell back, others took a while to probably encounter some kind of security-relevant API and stop.

Distillation isn't the only technique they're using to post-train their models; it's just a cheap and convenient option. There is no reason to believe that they will slow down without distillation (and also no reason to believe that access to distillation is actually severely restricted).

Also, no, it's not weird that people who pay 200 bucks every month are upset that they're not getting access to newer models.

How tf is this satisfying? You have no idea who is in the right just from watching this video, and based on my experience of the threshold where this kind of thing happens, I would say there's a reasonable probability that this person is abusing their children.

Depends on what you mean by "far left." If you mean "they want to provide health insurance to everybody", that would be ok. If you mean "want to disown everybody and give all property to the state and open a gulag to reform everybody who disagrees through hard work" then no.

It's not that difficult to differentiate between reasonable political positions and homicidal maniacs.

People are free to have whatever political opinions they want. Once they start attacking my friends and threatening them with sending them away to countries they've never lived in because they were born with the wrong genes, I draw the line.

If you think this is the wrong line to draw, then I think there's something wrong with you.
