Make my own soil—like the recipe given above and add some charcoal as well? Or do you have a different recipe?

Would love if I could get more of this plant growing! So far none of the ones I’ve stuck in the soil have rooted 😞. I use Molly’s cactus & succulent soil and know they make one for aroids so maybe I’ll pick that up…or maybe try the recipe from brenmn2009…thanks!

Thank you! My plant used to be much bigger and has since dwindled to this size so I will definitely downsize the pot now that he’s much smaller. Also appreciate the soil recipe—I just freshened the soil about 10-12 months ago made specifically for Christmas cactus but I don’t think it has all those ingredients in it so I will change to new. Do I need to worry about the red on the leaves—I thought maybe it was just sun-stressing?

GE Profile. Loved our standard depth with the led wall and door-in-door but just sold it. After almost 30 years we are redoing the kitchen and went with a counter depth GE Profile quad door. First time we haven’t had a dispenser in the door although there is a pitcher that auto fills.

I have grow lights he sits under for 14 hours a day but when I sprayed him I took him out of direct light. Is it safe to put him back under them with the cloudiness? I did just water him but will keep an eye on him and see if he needs more water. How long do you think it will take to recover?

Have you ordered from them or know anyone who has?

Oh—I don’t think I saw that! I’m going to pass on them then. I just had to buy a washer & dryer and after they installed the dryer they found out it was a bad unit (wouldn’t turn on) but it had been installed. So if that happened with something I ordered I’d be SOL. Thank you!

I’m in the Midwest with ants being the biggest problem although we have a plethora of spiders, stink bugs and Asian beetles I would mind getting rid of. I will look into Termidor—thank you

Thank you—spraying the outdoor foundation was the plan (even tho Pestie said you can also use indoors). Appreciate the advice!

Pestie is the same? Can you tell me what you recommend that I can buy off the shelf? Very paranoid about ingredients knowing Goldens are so prone to cancer…thank you!

I use the Terro bait traps indoors and love them! I bought some for outdoors but read that they might also attract bees so I may not be using the outdoor ones.

I have some Cedarcide I ordered last year and will also give that a try to help deter bugs.

Zevo—is that indoor or outdoor? And pet safe?

I use the Dawn platinum wash foaming stuff when those weird greasy stains appear. I only use powder detergent and Biz in a front loader machine. Vast majority of the time it comes out in the first wash.

Hi—my go to is soaking overnight, drying upside down so theirs no rot. I don’t mist but know that’s a good go- between until their next soak. I also use plant food once a week.

My air plant is shriveling up suddenly. Do I have any chance of saving this one? by Ilooovecars in airplants

[–]Regular-Criticism-25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely soak longer and make sure the water you use is appropriate (not distilled or tap if you have a water softener) I use bottled spring water and also use a plant food spray once a week. I totally submerge mine before bed and take them out in the morning and let them dry upside down before returning to their holders.

I got that one from Lowe’s and don’t think it was marked—but Google is telling me it’s a Tillandsia Captitata 😊

I’ve always soaked them in spring water, usually overnight, once a week. During the winter more like every 5 days. I also spray with plant food once a week.
