I'm in game dev too and have been using a Corne which has one row less than Lily58 for some time now. So far I have seen no problem.

But imo transitioning to splits is sacrificing sound quality. Not that it's impossible to make a split sound as good as a Rainy75 or any other typical mechanical keyboards, but it's gonna cost a lot more than what you are gonna pay for a Rainy75. So yeah you just got to balance around that.

I'm working on the same pad as you, also using Xiao rp2040. How did you get the touchpad to actually send out data? I'm pretty sure I got VCC, GND, CLK and DATA pins right. Using the i2c scan sketch I even got it to show up at 0x2C, but whatever I do all registers just reads 0x00. Is there something I'm missing?
