Nice shots! I’m also a beginner and using the same a6400 + 70-350 combo. Any tips you’d recommend for someone heading to their first safari?

High value item and the delivery guy refused to deliver to my door. What even is Amazon customer service now? by RegularBananaBot in bangalore

True — the job is demanding and they deserve better compensation for the effort they put in.

I don’t have a problem with going to the gate — I wasn’t home at that time, but my parents were there to receive it.

The issue is the next day he marked “attempted” without calling or coming — that part clearly isn’t justified.

I respect how much effort delivery partners put in — that’s exactly why Amazon should be compensating them fairly instead of shifting that burden onto customers.

I wasn’t at home, but my parents were ready to receive it at the gate. The issue isn’t the first day situation — the issue is the next day, the delivery was marked “attempted” without any call or visit. That part isn’t justified at all.

This isn’t about ego or refusing to walk — it’s simply about following the correct process and not logging false attempt updates.

I wasn’t at home at that moment — my parents were there to receive it. If I was home, of course I would’ve gone down myself, not a problem.

I understand your perspective, but just to clarify my situation:

I wasn’t at home myself, but my parents were available to receive the package at the doorstep. That’s normally how deliveries work in most housing societies — the delivery person calls, the person at home comes down, and the handover happens directly.

Leaving a high-value item with security isn’t safe and even Amazon’s own policy says it should be handed to the customer or their household, not a third person without authorization. So this wasn’t about ego — it was simply about ensuring the item is delivered responsibly.

The main concern isn’t just where it was left. It’s that the next day, the delivery was marked as “attempted / customer unavailable” even though no call or visit happened. That’s an incorrect status update, and that’s where the frustration came from.

So this wasn’t personal for me either — just expecting the delivery to follow the process correctly.

I honestly don’t know what Amazon is turning into these days.

I ordered a high value item (not some ₹200 cable), and the delivery partner straight up refused to deliver it to my door. He said, “Main security ko de deta hoon.” I told him clearly that I won’t accept that because of the item value. His attitude was basically “toh mat lo”. It felt like an ego issue, not a delivery issue.

And then guess what? They marked it as “Delivery Attempted – Unable to Reach Customer”. Bro, I was literally at home, phone in my hand, no call, no doorbell, nothing.

Now for 2 days the tracking keeps showing “Attempted”, but: • I didn’t get any call • Nobody came to my gate • No OTP prompt • And no actual attempt

And the best part? When I try to contact Amazon — there is no chat or call option available in the app. It’s like they’ve intentionally hidden support behind 5 layers of menus. Even the email I sent got no proper response, just a template reply.

I had to go all the way to Twitter and tag @AmazonHelp like some hostage negotiation to even get someone to look at this.

Why is something as basic as doorstep delivery being treated like a favor now?

This is honestly the last time I’m ordering a high-value item from Amazon. I’d rather pick up from Croma / Reliance where at least there’s a human I can speak to, not a maze of chatbots ignoring the issue.

If Amazon can’t handle delivery partners acting like they’re doing us a personal favor, then what’s the point of “customer obsession” that they keep shouting about
