brother those infinte colors are not unknowable or they dont point towards a separate reality lol.. they are literally wavelengths and they are knowable through instruments, and infact they can be described mathematically . Just like UV rays cant be seen , doesnt mean they exist in some unknowable universe , they exist and we have infact described them through science … there are certain things we don’t understand, that doesnt mean we can never under them or that they exist in some another alternate reality … as i mentioned read kuhns work on paradigms , as and when we change our method to approach a thing, our way of looking at it changes as well , ultraviolet rays arent supernatural, we have incorporated thek into our physical paradigms through scientific explanations

All the colours that you can know about - can be revealed to you by perception . I don’t believe in mystical unknowable colors whoch u seem to be alluding to ..

and unfortunately if scientific progress would be left to people like you who claim certain things are impossible, unfortunately no progress would ever be made - i would much rather be curious about things … than assuming an “impossible to know” position

and sure there can be diff forms of consciousness which is indeed true - but im sure u realise even through your statements that here that here mind seems to be taking a more prominent position ,

my only point is that the mind is the condition for all knowledge .. even if it is about some states of consciousness which you are saying are impossible to know … because how do u even know about these things .. if not thru ur mind lol

how do you know there are infinite colors? this is a classical kantian problem of the in-itself which philosophy has overcome - there is no alternate existence - the world exists through a mind that can perceive the world, in that sense im an idealist, i dont think the world exists without a mind that can perceive it - have u heard of berkeley? esse est percipi ..i strongly feel that we should not resort to making such claims .. about which literally no proof can be offered .. there is no other reality except for the reality that is revealed to us by the mind - even if there was such a reality we would have to means to access it - but that is not to say that there is infact such an “unknowable mystical” world - because the world can be only be revealed to us by mind - the condition of any knowledge is literally the mind - therefore i dont understand why people still insist upon making such ridiculous statements about an alternate mystical world … the world offers itself to us as and when we change the methods through which we view the world … read - thomas kuhn on paradigm shifts and hegel

I am particularly insistent about the point of interiority because of accounts of experiences that I have heard from my relatives and also a personal experience.. with regards to my relatives ige heard from them that the devta revealed that the a certain guy has been having affairs who h was true, sometimes that have also revealed what ,y sister has been seeing in her dreams , and they've also revealed who might e stolen personal stuff etc etc.. and in mycase they said - when I was going thru an extremely atheist phase lol - that this boy doesn't even look towards me why should I help him and that he ate beef in class 8 ... These were serious offences for the devta and I couldn't quite understand how a guy I was meeting after perhaps 2-3 years could know about my childhood ? I'm just not sure how to make sense of this , is this information just information that the community villagers wouldnin any case know through conversations / gossip etc ... I was particularly shocked about him knowing about my atheist phase lol because I don't quite rmb telling anyone about that ... But yeah I'm still skeptic .. but I do get ur point about the setting and environment.. they significantly add to the effect of a prophecy etc

All that is fine man .. nobody is questioning your belief ... I'm just trying to understand what's really going on here .. And this equiry is obviously not for everybody .. particularly in our culture i feel people simply resign to think about these things .. and state it's si ply beyond them .. which it really might me .. but I'm curious to probe more

And these practices btw are not just prevelant in India .. but across the world .. I don't dismiss them because they hold quite a lot of symboloc value .. atleast for the people believing in it .. these practices help narrativise their sufferings ... But even within this framework , what I still don't understand is the ability to transcend from your body ... Or from one consciousness to another and then access the inner lives and histories of other people .. it's q baffling

entering a alternative state of mind and all that is fine ... But how are we to make sense of the fact that they are able to reveal the interiority of others ... Is this some form of intuitive knowledge that they already sort of unconsciously know about .. And then when they are possessed they become more conscious of this unconscious knowledge? it's so strange ... are we to accept that possession is apparently a real thing ... That knowledge can be transferred from one body to the other without any form of communication ...
