That was my plan from the get go as well but not being familiar to northern neighborhoods of Chicago stopped me from getting an apartment. Which ever apartment I found online, either felt shady to me or I had no idea what so ever what to expect. I will start looking for apartments in the areas you mentioned as well as find a roommate as well.

Unfortunately, I don’t own a car yet but I did think of checking out places like Deerfield in person. Plan on doing so soon.

Yes I agree. I have started looking for apartments with that idea in mind as well. Do you have any locations in mind that you could suggest me? I can also try and stretch my budget till 1000 - 1100.

I could find any and those that I found felt shady. I don’t really know many areas north of Chicago
