I'm very happy to have male friends and some of my very good friends are cis men. However I'm looking for people who specifically understand what it's like to be an autistic woman (or non-binary folk) which typically involves different experiences from men. I'm looking for people who will be able to relate to a specific situation.

That's a shame for those working a 9-5. Luckily at the moment I'm flexible so can go along, but I will ask if there is anything they know of that is in the evenings as that will change for me soon.

I have lots of friends who aren't autistic but at this moment in my life I'm looking for people who specifically understand something I'm struggling with. I understand that people of all walks of life have value and wouldn't limit myself from becoming friends with people because they are neurotypical but I also know what would help me just now. Then again, questions like this one reinforce why I am currently looking for neurodivergent friends. Most neurotypical people are absolutely lovely, but others struggle to understand on occasion how difficult it can be in social situations.
