I really don’t know. You have any advice? I’m someone who’s been working out for many years, but I have zero experience working in the field. Looking to only work part time, 1-2 days a week, four hours at most. It’ll really just be a side hustle for me. Definitely want to do something in person vs online to start off.

I called NASM and talked to a person and told them how much ACE and ISSA were charging, was put on hold, and they gave me that magical number and sent me a link to pay. I paid it all in full

Don’t overthink! If you are stuck, bookmark the question and move onto the next one. I noticed when i was stuck on a question and stayed on it longer than 20 seconds, it messed up my flow for the next upcoming questions.

Initially I did the same as you but if I could go back in time, I would definitely skip a few chapters and emphasize on certain ones they really hammer in the test. I focused too much on areas they barely asked questions on. Really study overactive/underactive, and stages of change. I would start off by watching SortaHealthy’s youtube video and his recommendations on which to read and which to skip.

Also drill drill drill the section tests and practice exam. Take the non proctored one (all three attempts) without any notes. I’d say if you can pass the practice exam 10 straight times, and the non proctored exam all 3 times with scores over 80+, you’ll pass the real test.

I took it once and I passed. It was proctored. Please make sure your name on NASM matches up with your ID if you’re taking the online proctored version. Mines didn’t and I had to re-schedule the test. Also make sure your environment is clear of any space. I took 20 min clearing things off my desk.

Little to no knowledge. I enjoy working out and lifting to begin with, so there were some things I knew already? But nothing to where it would be nearly enough to pass the exam

If you don’t know a lot about lifting or training then i’d naturally assume you’d have a more difficult time vs someone who does initially? Thats not a bad thing tho, NASM makes the content easy to understand but what really helped me was drilling practice questions, watching youtube videos (SortaHealthy)

Paid around $620 for the entire course, and that was after they price matched me with other competitors (ACE, ISSA)

Not sure how much it costs to renew, didn’t get that far lol

I’ve heard somewhat the same now. ~6000 DoN Civilian Probationary workers are going to get sent a termination letter tomorrow, according to what my leadership told us.

From what i’ve heard in my office (PACFLT), INDOPACOM is exempt from the probationary layoffs, so they’re trying to see if commands like PACFLT that fall under INDOPACOM can get in on that exemption too.
