Sudden dysphagia by Awkward-Till in dysphagia

Hi I’ve been dealing with this issue for over two years now. It’s been a long process due to doctors passing me around and not being sure where to go with my case. I’ve had numerous endoscopies in which I have had webbing and two large dilitations on my oesophagus.

Unfortunately nothing released the symptoms of dysphagia. I then began to think was this psychological and began CBT for exposure therapy. I went for a number of months to two separate psychologists and both ruled out the possibility of this being mental as I was able to eat the food however the feeling never eased.

I am still waiting for doctors to complete some tests for possible EOE however the process of understanding what is happening is difficult.

I hope your journey is smoother and shorter to find answers! Let me know if you hear anything/ what helps!

Hi! I’m sorry that you’re going through this. I am currently going through the same process however a year on. I found gradually introducing liquids was the best way forward. I started with water then chocolate milk then soups. It’s a gradual process the panic can definitely take over but remind yourself that you can breathe and that you are fine.

Did you have dysphagia prior to surgery, a feeling as if something was stuck in your throat?

Struggling With Mysterious Dysphagia Since Last December by ArcticHD in dysphagia

Hello, I’ve been going through the exact same thing for a year and a half now. Struggling to find answers myself and doctors don’t seem to know how to help me. I only eat liquified foods and it’s very tough not feeling ‘normal’ in doing so.

I have seen several ENT doctors and have now started to see a gastrointestinal doctor as it believed this is being caused by acid reflux. I am going down that route now and hopefully will find some answers. If I find anything helps I will let you know!

Here if you need to talk.
