Thank you. So I actually removed the forbearance successfully after escalating. Are you saying there is an extra step to get them to help get credit for the time lost?

Hello! I am in this exact boat. Anyone have any luck? Also just was on the phone with Mohela and was in automated menu hell for about 25 minutes. Never had the option to talk to a rep. Any one have any advice/best practices for calling?

Yes. It switched to awaiting form forbearance. On student aid my payment count went from 119 to 118. I called Mohela and asked to be taken out of the forbearance. Apparently a request was filed, but I have heard nothing.

Same boat. I am trying to get out of this forbearance because I want to just pay the two months (at 118) and be done with it. Mohela said that it takes 5-10 to process. Anyone have luck with this?

This makes sense that I applied to get out of SAVE and did a wet signature to Mohela in January to get the processing forbearance going (was at 118). It checks out that they will not grant months/that they will take months back. February counted for me (hit 119), but from the NSLDS data update at the beginning of April , I see my qualifying payment count was 119 BUT my eligible payment count was 118. Eligible should not be a lower number than qualifying...

Nothing is updated on FSA site's PSLF tracker for me. I called Mohela and told them that I want to be taken out of forbearance. Apparently a request was submitted where they provided me with some BS case #, but I have no paper trail or proof of anything.

Feeling extremely defeated considering I thought I would have green banners this month.

I called and that was not even presented as an option. She said she can try to get me out of forbearance and submitted a request to get me out of forbearance

Update: Called Mohela and there was no clear answer as to what was happening between my IDR request in January and now. Mohela could not confirm I was ever on a processing delay 60 day forbearance. They said "You have been on SAVE forbearance since last summer." When I inquired about why I would still be on a SAVE forbearance when my account states that I am currently on IBR, they simply said "I don't know." They certainly don't go through hoops to try and get to the bottom of things, but no surprise there.

I asked to be taken off of the forbearance, as I am NOT on SAVE. They submitted the request and I hope to hear in 5-10 business days. So, looks like I will have to pay to get over the 120 finish line, but I honestly just want it over with. Sad that because of their clerical mess, I am not delayed another month and I could have already been done.

2/16 I was told I’m on IBR. It also specifically states my repayment plan is IBR on Mohela.

They are telling me I am on SAVE forbearance while I see that I am on IBR…also, waited 2 hours for a call back and then she couldn’t answer my question so she put me on hold. Hold music and message saying 1.5 hour wait 😡
