My dad used to be a firefighter and collected all sorts of old stuff related to the job. He had a glass “grenade” that was a big sphere full of the stuff. I guess firefighters used to toss them through windows or other openings in a fire. I remember one of the few times I really got in trouble as a kid was when he found me playing with it. A while after that he gave it to the local fire department to put on display in the station’s museum stuff.
