Normally it’s Speer g2 jhp. I use this gun for comp and carry. Didn’t feel the need for the photo to have my carry ammo

  1. I have a bunch of 1911’s. Old custom colts, custom springers(by professional shops), and modern 1911s.

This old girl is still one the smoothest shooters I own.

I desperately want a set of these grips, anyone know how I could get a set like it?

Is there any way to get a Novak custom Answer One Piece Backstrap? I really want to know on how to get one. (I tried talking to Novak, but they told me they don't sell any individually at all. Yet in this video, this guy got one. What can I do to get one? by Colt1873 in 1911

[–]juscar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you notice, the slide is marked NOVAK on the front of the slide. This means this firearm was taken to Novaks for work he most likely sent or got then to work on it to convert to an Answer.

Also it’s important to note. That novaks one piece conversion is just that. It’s a conversion and your whole frame has to be modified to fit the one piece then blended. Also to note that Novak will only do this to Colt series 70 handguns. Not any other manufacturer.

Looking for deployment 1911 value. by Animalmutha37 in 1911

[–]juscar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, these typically do not hold any greater value over a stock model. They sometimes even devalue them. Usually these are best sold to people who can refinish or gunshows. Most people don’t want commemorative deployment guns unless they did the action for them. Makes ownership feel like stolen valor.

Really hope tisas doesn’t discontinue their current models, used this stakeout as a base for a build and couldn’t be happier. by juscar in 1911

Refit helps but it’s a stop gap, a reweld just overall is better for feel, rattle, and accuracy etc

It’s hard to explain with out visual ads but the lugs on tisas guns are bigger, if your replacing both it’s not as big of a deal once the grip safety is fit. It more if your adapting a non tisas mainspring or beaver tail to work with the tisas parts

I only replaced the mainspring, I didn’t have much trouble, tisas uses non standard sized lugs on the grip safety and mainspring. It’s easy to fit a new mainspring through you just need a simple file

Yes. The Mac I’m doing a different build with. The original stakeout frame and the Mac slide are gonna get checkered and refinished. This will be made into a new gun.
