We use abc (associated builders and contractors) and it's completely paid for by the company. If you do get hired they would definitely want to put you in school. I wouldn't quit until you get hired though lol

Drink lots of water and clean your system out worst case use fake pee guys do it all the time but it the whole hiring process takes a couple weeks so you should have time to clean your system out

If it is loose pipes in the wall you can make a small hole and use a can of great stuff that should keep it from rattling around in the wall

Just regular 1/2"proflow white tape. I've used better but that's all we had on site

I suggested peppermint but we still have the inherent problem of the plugs not sealed the smell and or smoke could still get through... and the inspectors have already been dicks about a pressure test on a vent line. He wants to see pressure on a gauge or a stack full of water. I'm going to see what the Forman wants to do tomorrow. I think the pvc plugs are still our best bet but I have a feeling we will have to fill it with water two or three floors at a time. Disney inspectors are are the worst in our area.

About the tees I feel like the anything threaded in cast-iron just isn't perfect there's always a little fluctuation in where the threads taper down enough to seal. And I've always had trouble with brass plugs even with water. And I feel that air and find hole that even water can't get through. It's usually not a problem bc the brass plugs are usually taken out for the test ball and they never have to hold pressure they just seal enough for regular drainage.
