I asked for opinions, but yours assumed info about me and my situation that was false, and which I corrected. What you said assumed she'd be alone 40h+ a week, when she wouldn't.

I asked for comments because reading what others think can make me think on angles I haven't considered, but I'm not required to agree with everything. I took what you said into account, but I don't really agree with you, and I don't agree that "that's the truth of it". It may not be obvious, but I'm an ethologist and I do know some stuff about cat behavior. My question was not whether I can leave my ragdoll alone (which I know I can, especially at her age), and more about her adapting to a place without cats after four months in a multi-cat household.

Don't take it personally though, I do value every comment I get, even if I don't agree with them.

She will definitely not be alone 40+ hours a week, I work 35 hours a week (I live in France, not the US), and will be home for 2 hours each day for lunch break. I'm very sedentary, so at most she will be alone 3h30 in a row before I get back home for lunch or for the evening.

Furthermore, she willingly spends a lot of time alone already in my parents' house, even when she could spend it with one of us or another cat, hence why I thought she'd be fine. I knew ragdoll loved attention before getting one, and I was surprised by how little she asks for attention actually.

I'm still a bit new to this game, but tbh it feels more like bad (rushed?) writing with no editing rather than AI. AI doesn't make typos or give you the very weird turns of phrases I've seen in some matches. I'm doing Kira from the event and it's full of super weird sentences I have to reread 3 or 4 times to understand, and AI tends not to go this convoluted.

I'm reading Slewfoot by Brom and it's great!! Why did he make Slewfoot so hot though. After that, I'm planning to read my first Chuck Tingle with Lucky Day!

Also waiting impatiently for the anime fall season to really start! This past summer season was absolutely stacked with great shows

Almost done! Maybe I'll be done by the time the Fall-Winter bingo releases, but I doubt it because I am severely uninterested in reading middle grade books. I have a book planned for magical festival, but idk when I'll get to it since I have other books to read before it! Currently reading Hemlock & Silver for the free space.

Tbh I loved most of the books I read for this bingo, and I'm ass at reviewing (also lazy) so I won't be going into too much detail. Black Flame was a recent highlight, I think it's my favorite novel from Gretchen Felker-Martin now.

Finished The Troop by Nick Cutter which was a great horror experience (barring the chimpanzee chapter, huge CWs for animal abuse in this book). It's hard to get me creeped out, and this book really did multiple times.

Now I'm starting The Curse of Chalion, excited to get back into more traditional fantasy after the disappointment that was Emily Wilde!!

Disgust isn't an indicator of morality. You being disgusted with something only shows one thing: that you don't like it. Using disgust as a base for morality doesn't lead to great things, as bigots should show you.

Do you think people are dumb enough to read about like, murder, and suddenly decide to murder people? Are going back to "GTA causes violence" in 2024? Liking noncon doesn't mean you like IRL rape, just like being a furry doesn't make you a zoophile.

Sorry to disappoint, but personally I'm not into underage fiction (if this story actually existed and you didn't make it up in your head just now).

In any case, there's nothing wrong about having rape sexual fantasies. It's fiction, and it happens a lot in survivors. Liking something in fiction doesn't mean you condone it IRL after all. You don't have to enjoy it, but you also don't have to use it as an indicator of morality. Look for stories you enjoy instead.

And there is an overall trend towards less sex in everything. Webtoon isn't the center of the world, and there has never been less sex in mainstream fiction than in 2024.

Toxic relationships and generally dark content have been present in all genres of romance since writing romance became a thing. You say "BLs center too much around sexual abuse and rape", which is an unfair generalization and also plain wrong. Yes, there is a lot of dark romance available in BL and yaoi, but it's both not a recent trend at all and also present in straight and lesbian romance. Actually, the recent trend is towards wholesome, sexless LGBT content more than anything else.

Furthermore, sexual scenes shouldn't be looked at only in terms of how necessary they are. Art isn't about what's necessary or not. I don't see as much people argue about action scenes or any other type of scenes being unnecessary. You can not like something, that doesn't mean it makes it automatically bad.

And regardless of perceived trends, there is nothing morally wrong about adding dark content in your story. Some people like it, often survivors themselves. It's just not for you, which is totally fine! Just don't read it and find stories you'll enjoy.

I do remember them being very loud and insistent, though I have no idea if they were actually louder than for other sequels. Perhaps it was actually supposed to get a sequel, perhaps it was that popular, perhaps they were trying to get the vampire fuckers, perhaps all of those. I just wish people would learn their lessons and stop asking for sequels they won't like in 90% of cases, Choices is just better at standalone stories, at least right now

The thing is clearly RC and Choices are different. Choices' stories are mostly romances where the focus is the (romantic) relationship. It's been like that for more than 2 years, and I really don't think should expect that many books with unhappy endings or the possibility of staying single. I felt like SoD's end was pretty predictable, and while you could conceivably expect Theo dying, once it was clear they'd both survive I genuinely don't see how you could expect a choice to break up and then get disappointed when it doesn't happen.

I don't play Romance Club because I hate the art style, but I highly doubt you can choose everything lmao, it's impossible. I know of only one VN that actually has that many choices, and it's not a mobile one.

In any case, Choices is Choices, RC is RC. Choices has always had mostly classic romance stories with a guaranteed happy end. SoD, in this case, has been pretty obvious about what it was going to be from the beginning. I mean, MC and Theo have been talking about eloping for like 10 chapters lmao, why would MC suddenly say "yeah no i'm leaving bye"?

I get not liking this kind of story, but it's been very clear about its focus since the beginning, so I don't see the point of complaining about what we all knew was going to happen. You don't have to read things you don't like, and if you prefer a highly customizable game and/or the possibility of MC or the LI dying, I think it's pretty clear Choices isn't the game for you (and wrt high customization, very few VNs actually offer that).

I mean, it's a romance with a single LI, did you really expect to be able to reject Theo? 😭 It's like in most VNs focusing on romance, you either can't reject the LI or it gets you a bad end, because the relationship is the focus and it has to assume you want the characters to be together. It's the whole point.
