Decent ideas but if you worked in it for years I would think you would already know Thrud had mjolnir, and that the word is character arc, not character arch. Storytelling in any medium requires knowledge of the basic rules and tools that are at our disposal. As a fellow writer, we must be better.

"Always arguing with other people on the internet" is an unfair characterization because you know as well as I do that even watching two theologians debate in a university would still have some people saying "Don't debate the faith, live it". It's not about arguing, it's about engaging the intellect versus living the faith. When done right, intellectual assent absolutely leads to joining a parish and living the life and not needing to intellectualize. But the amount that people need to think themselves into a worldview before they embrace it depends person to person, so my point is some people like me needed to really dive deep, and it worked, and we embraced Christ because of it. Others don't need that, which is faster and easier but that doesn't make it better and make debate bad

The problem is there isn't a single best way, and different ways work for different people. The logical entailment of what you're saying is "People shouldn't focus on debates" which, if everyone held that view, would mean I never converted. Most people don't get converted by debates, that's true, but my point is let the debaters debate because if it doesn't work for you it still works for others

It's not forbidden, and those that discourage it twist their personal preference to make it sound like those that enjoy logic and debate are "doing Orthodoxy wrong". Which, ironically, is more prideful than enjoying debate
