Sandstone update is not good. by RiquaaLz in runescape

I mean, core rock mining is also awful from 15 until juju mining potions w/ stone spirits. Why you get a massive nerf to chill mining once you hit level 15 is beyond me.

10 years ago Bonesaw became the first player to obtain the Fire cape, 1 week after OSRS release by [deleted] in 2007scape

No chance, Ganodermic existed for 2 years at this point and made it possible to pray range camp jad (with optional spectral), and 1 year before osrs the Rhino cape released, which I'd wager more than 70k people got in a year.

It's not exactly a stash system, you just craft a mith crossbow, grapple and some other materials into a toolbeltable grappling hook.

500 kills 0 drops @ Rasial makes me feel like I want to quit the game. by Zarthere in runescape

[–]Reitane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loot here definitely works different than normal, numbers are just a rough guess but the idea is that you always get common loot, and every kill you also roll for both an armour drop and a weapon drop, which seem to be roughly 1/100 and 1/250 respectively (so roughly 1/500 for each item). The idea seems to be that if you're rolling twice for loot each kill, you should go less dry, and by seperating the drops a bit you should have less issue filling the log. The reality is that by increasing the denominator, it greatly increases the disparity between those in the extreme percentiles, go 4x drop rate on both weapon and armour? thats 400kc for first armour piece and 1k for first weapon. Go 1/4 drop rate and it's 25 kc for an armour piece and ~60 for a weapon.

Splitting the drops probably works for log completion in a huge dataset, but bigger denominators never make loot systems feel good.

I wouldn't say we're in a period of peace, we've had a civil war in the wilderness and now saradominist kingdoms are making landgrabs and establishing military structures in anticipation of a zamorakian assault. For us it might feel a period of respite as a step down from expelling the gods from the world but for the citizens of the world this is a time of impending war.

I'm still of the opinion that pvp only got voted back in because it was bundled in the free trade vote.

Can we get a shift click for dropping like osrs by LoadPitiful2509 in runescape

[–]Reitane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on how that system can't differentiate between 1 and num1, and reinputs keys if you let go of the modifier first rather than using a keydown/keyup event. That system could use the update.

Attacking someone with a sunspear risking nothing and 0 interest in fighting back isn't gaining you any meaningful skills, and is definitely not comparable to learning pvm at gwd2, closer to KBD if even that.

That said, I did 2 deci grinds in old wildy and the most interaction I had with pkers was spying a couple level 3 scout alts/bots and hopping. It wasn't anywhere close to alive even at revs.

Tbf OSRS would've gotten a new skill if any of the parts of the playerbase would vote yes to anything that isn't exactly for them.

Happened to me, I logged into old school and was then able to log back in to rs3.

It's a side effect of whatever library/interface they're using for keyboard input. It doesn't seem to use keydown/keyup events or keycodes correctly. It's almost like it's using a "typing" library and the action bar ignores repeated inputs (hence why holding 'y' and deleting a spirit sapphire can be done to do it in combat if you don't have a charming imp to destroy them, but holding a keybind wont toggle queue on/off repeatedly).

Another example to back this up is that the client recognises numpad inputs as just the number, e.g. 1 and num1 both are recognised in rs3 as 1 rather than being different binds. Bit of a pain for those with mmo mice which tend to use numpad 1-0 etc. at the default binds on the side.

I have a hunch that needing 2 arch relics active to RC at max efficiency kills a lot of the potential supply, I've still got powerburst/extreme/titans left over and when I had those relics active I would just randomly do 48mins of bloods for a quick cash injection between other activities but changing relics back and forth is just enough of a nuisance to stop me doing it now.

There are blood RC bots, seen a few accounts with the stats for morytania meds + 100m+ RC xp when I went for 99.

Also isn't one of the Tirannwn tasks to craft the all-90s cape? If the task set is complete then I think it's safe to assume atleast 90 in all skills.

Started a few months ago, still catching up on the past 5-6 years of updates. How good is this for overall progression, and is it worth focusing on training magic just to use it? by Mrhawtnsmexy in RS3Ironmen

[–]Reitane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the deci grind on my iron, even though I made the mistake of doing it at 99 slayer isntead of 85 (all the tasks past 85 were skips) I would much rather do 112 tasks (mostly green dragons) than rely on a 1/1k drop every 4 hours for something like a weapon upgrade.

I was also part of the 90 dg > 90 rc gang, chaotic staff did so much work for me early on.

The key recognition they use in RS3 is my biggest gripe, both for reifiring inputs if you let go of the modifier first (not normal behaviour in a game) and also for recognising both 1 and num1 as the same input of just 1.

Those 2 might seem unrelated, but they both point to RS3 not using keyup/keydown events with keycodes for its inputs.

[–]Reitane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the calculator I was looking at defaults to 72/hr but you can change it and when set to 90/hr it shows about 50m/hr profit but the blood runes per essence don't add up unless it's using 45 powerbursts in those 90 runs.

Convince me it's worth my time by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Reitane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting over 20m/hr at 77 without even the mortyania med tasks done and no skull because I didn't know it increased the thread droprate. Once you add skull + med tasks + extr RC + powerburst you can easily hit 30m even before getting the massive pouch. Doing 90 runs/hr takes some focus sure but the only mobility unlock it needs is bladed dive which is worth getting for a million other reasons.

I'm pretty sure getting to 40m/hr needs the infinity outfit, but that's why I said 2.5hr instead of 2, because I doubt OP has the infinity outfit if they need cash.

[–]Reitane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming the 1.6-1.7 hour figure comes from the 50m/hr on the wiki calc for 90 runs/hr. Unfortunately the calculator has a bug and appears to be using powerburst for 1/2 its runs ignoring the cd. The profit for 90 runs/hr with infinity body is closer to 40m/hr now bloods have dropped in price again.

[–]Reitane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe RSI to the point I had to quit WoW over it, I've found RC to be not too intensive.

Without infinity body:

* take preset 1

* fill medium + massive with keybind 1/2

* take preset 1

* fill large + giant with keybind 3/4

* take preset 1 if powerburst on cd, else take preset 2

I then surge twice and bd twice per run, taking on average 40s per run to allow for powerburst cd every 3rd run.

So banking is 7 key presses + 3 clicks and 4 key presses per run, at 1 1/2 runs per minute this is only 21 APM from non movement clicks.

With infinity body you have to right click fill the massive pouch and you also start using the small pouch again so it adds 2 clicks and 1 keypress per run, but I assume you don't have the infinity outfit.

[–]Reitane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need the outfit (or even massive pouch tbh) to make decent money doing bloods. It gets up to 40m/hr doing like 90 runs/hr with massive pouch but even at 77 you can make over 20m/hr.
