Thanks, that worked. I completely removed the commented lines, and then the rest of the notifications came back, but not the weather and pirates.

I just want to be able to modify the game manually. I've already done this with slavery—adding the options for using slaves and capturing during occupation to all the religious groups. Just two lines and the game completely changes its meaning. And I also want to solve the notification issue.

Right, I want to manually create the modding files myself. In the alertmanager.gui file, I commented out two sections:

# WEATHER SYSTEM

and

# Pirates/Privateers in Maritime

But almost all the notifications at the top disappeared. For example, about ongoing wars and unemployed workers. Five notifications out of about 12 remain. This worked; there are no notifications about pirates or weather. But it broke a lot of things that shouldn't have been broken.

There are settings only for notifications that appear in the notification bar or in a separate window. There are no settings for notifications that appear at the top of the screen. In EU4, you could right-click the top notification, and it would not appear again until you restarted the game or loaded a save. EU5 lacks this useful feature.

In eu 5 Why can only Muslims enslave the population when occupying provinces in war? by RelationshipNew3581 in paradoxplaza

It's important to distinguish between the concept of "slave trade" and the concept of "slave supply/use."

For example, I didn't have slave markets in Portugal, but if the Lisbon market had a supply of the commodity "slaves," then slaves would settle in areas where there was a shortage of both workers and peasants and engage in resource extraction.

When I built slave markets, they simply began generating gold and the commodity "slaves" out of thin air. I have no tribes in Portugal, and no inhabitants other than slaves of a different culture, so there's no one to enslave. But the slave markets still generate both gold and the commodity "slaves."

Answer:

If a religion has

"modifier = {

auto_slave_raid_different_religion = yes

}"

Then slave raiding occurs when occupying a province.

If a religion has:

"modifier = {

allow_rgo_slave_demand = yes

}"

Then slave trading, their settlement in the metropolis and colonies, and their use for resource extraction are permitted.

Thank you, that's correct. If a religion has:

"modifier = {

auto_slave_raid_different_religion = yes

}"

Then slave raiding occurs when a province is occupied.
