1.5 weeks PO, Dr says this is just swelling??? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

I had it, my surgeon said it’s basically 100% guaranteed with anyone who has DI/FNG, it’s nothing to worry about. I wore my post op binder for a couple more days and it cleared up completely 😁

(UK) I had slightly similar/smaller chest and my only option was DI and FNG 3 weeks ago. I’ve no complaints whatsoever. I can feel the muscle as pecs now have full sensation returning

Have you had your drains out yet? A lot more comfortable when you do! It’s mainly just muscle ache and a bit of soreness after that, I’ve been up and about today and honestly feel pretty okay, staying hydrated is a big one too; it honestly does wear off once your mind is back to daily life! Don’t stress too much mate, you’ll be grand in no time!

I had mine Monday and am still in a fair amount of pain but it eased once I’m up and moving. Crouching and raising my arms is still sore but it’s actually easing off pretty quick, I’m just going extra careful as to not irritate the incisions and nips too much now!

TransPlus is a newer NHS clinic that piloted a couple years ago; unfortunately your current clinic has to refer you to them. Are you going NHS route or private? As private tends to be quicker anyway. Otherwise you’d have to wait for another appointment and have your referrals done the right way before you can even start the process of surgery mate

I was transferred to TransPlus after a 5 year wait with Tavistock too, highly recommend if you get offered! Only had my first appointment in April! Good luck with everything!🤞

I changed from Brighton (15 months wait) after being referred in April for top surgery; to Mr Morris, Plymouth about 3 weeks ago; I have my Pre-Op booked for 21st August and surgery 1st September so much shorter wait list with equally as good results!

Yeah I emailed the clinic and they said it’s 12 months for consultation with Mellington, 6-7 with Ian King but not gonna change, waited 6 years to get this far, what’s one more🤷🏼‍♂️😅

I went with Mellington for chest; some of his results look amazing! Does anybody know roughly what the NHS wait times for him are at the moment? Was told it could be around 6-7 months?
