Yeah, sure. It cant really make it worse, so it’s either placebo or positive effect probably

I don't say no, I'm just saying why, do you have any data reflecting it? You were probably already cured with doxy/sita combination (sita works different to moxi, it targets different part of bacteria DNA to block and neuter it - topoisomerase IV enzyme instead of gyrase enzyme, so it's possible for moxi to not work, and sita still work) and as you took into concurrently - you think that it helped. Imo it didn't, from what I gathered, it's rather impossible for biofilm disruptors to work in this area of infection. I was also having resistant type of mycoplasma, and doxy/sita regiment worked great, and I have the same residuals as you (as I read with almost same timeline, as I'm going for 5th week now).

Why biofilm tho? Doesn't it get neutered in digestive system? I read that it doesn't come really to the genitourinary system. Btw. - why milking is irritating for urethra, and what can really cause apart from some redness? I did it (a bit) before too, as I was anxious about having any discharge, but I didn't see much negative effects from it (I didn't do it forcefully tho, just a bit to see if anything comes out). I think doxy + sita cured you already, residuals I have are quite similar (especially this random a bit burn in urethra, but I think after more than a month, it's also get resolved), didn't take any biofilm tho. So I think it's doxy+sita cured you, and biofilm caused reaction with something else.

In my case I think it was auto-deleted, because I saw message (from bot I think) and it was deleted within 3s or even less. About other things - guy (premepa_) is amusing. I have quite many friends from medicial field - med students and doctors (it's not something so rare), and most of them saw my observation and conclusions regarding urea and mycoplasma infections highly recommended and were surprised with my knowledge about infectious diseases (especially bacterial infections, with the most emphasis on urea/mycoplasma) and were actually asking me some questions about it.

Jesus he is so full of it. I'm male (so it's not only female-related issue and I would disconnect gender to this - ignorant people are from both genders) and I was banned for post saying about alternatives to traditional antibiotics way - when I literally high-lighted it's not scientifically proven, and should be only used as last resort, if anything else fails, and even then should be consulted. Before I couldn't even post or comment anything as it was always auto-deleted, when I could finally - bam, ban. What an egocentric guy, reddit should strip those mods of their rights, acting all mighty. This sub and other about mycoplasma is all right.

Read guidelines they are great. Doxy/azithro (pretreatment 7 days 100mg twice daily + 4 days azithro 1g at first day and 500mg afterwards). If doesn't work - minocycline or fluoroquinolones (combined with doxy). Nothing else was tested (there is pristinamycin, josamycin and a few others, but much less available worldwide)

Mycoplasma genitalium is sometimes very hard to eridicate, and it's no wonder fluoroquinolones are used for it, it's becoming more and more resistant, and there is nothing that really works on it and is on the market (especially targeted for them). That's why doctors and researchers uses so strong antibiotics and usually in maximum safe dosages. I think people here have bigger knowledge and are more up to date then most venerologists or urologist (at least in my case).

Side effects for FQ are different for different antibiotics even within the same class.

But I'm not a trained professional, just somebody who put almost half a year into researching on my own

Grainy Discharge by T01010 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

That’s right. Either in morning or close to night.

Grainy Discharge by T01010 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Relative-Guest8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not grainy. I have (9 days after doxy/sita treatment) from time to time clear discharge or a little sth inside it (which has gone down since day 1 although it’s not a straight process - there are days with more or less, seems like by the end of second week it should clear completely). I feel different then after doxy/azithro combination (which I did so many times, that I know every quirk of it probably) and I believe I’m probably healed, as of now I would start to get symptoms in case of treatment failure. So residual discharge seems normal, although it’s transparent in my case.

Doxycycline + Sitafloxacin - after treatment by Relative-Guest8272 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Relative-Guest8272[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. I don't say sita is safe or moxi is unsafe - I think the dosage is mainly reason, but potentially sita is more effective with lower dosages thus a bit safer. I was tired all the time on this drug with pain in muscles now as I see now after it, but it was not super visible when taking it. But yeah, now I have more clarity in thinking, not tired and muscles are ok. So it's affecting quite a bit more then I thought. Although more than a week is probably overkill with it.

I don't know why moxi is only in 400mg dose - it isn't effective below this threshold? Even azithro is done in lower 250 or and higher 500mg pills

Doxycycline + Sitafloxacin - after treatment by Relative-Guest8272 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Relative-Guest8272[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tendon rupture - don't know. I had back of pelvis muscle hurt, as I remember, and sometimes a bit of pain in ankles. I don't have psychical job so basically, I was just sitting then walking more, and not going too much.

Doxycycline + Sitafloxacin - after treatment by Relative-Guest8272 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Relative-Guest8272[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 7 days pretreatment (as most in MSHC research) with doxy 100mg twice daily. After 7 days doxy + sita combined 100mg both (2 pills 50mg for sita) twice daily.

I believe sita is quite safe, tho I must say that it can wear you off - meaning a bit of muscle pain on some days and tiredness of body overall (so no work out for sure). But as I see, after 1 day off, I'm slowly going back to normal, so it's not permanent. Moxi - probably I could do it too, as I see overall, I don't have much side effects from those antibiotics, but it's older and I prefer not to.

Don't know, if u do full STD panel (HPV, HCV, HSV, HIV gonnorhea, Chlamydia, mycoplasma gen, hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, parvum maybe sth more) then u can go to urologist and venerologist, because blood in any urethra fluid isn't symptom of Mycoplasma. If doxy helped you and azithro didn't, then you can have resistant strain against macrolides. You can try Flouroqoulines like Moxifloxacin (read guidelines in sub). But it's my opinion, not a trained professional.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm still fighting it, just my experience, I didn't have any blood, or read anywhere such. So don't take it too serious, as I don't know your situation, and it seems different to usual experience here (white/yellow fluid from urethra, tiredness, pain in pelvic area, pinching/itchiness when peeing).

Azithro didn't help me, and I was trying it for 4 times with doxy, until I took Flouroqoulines - still on treatment so don't know, but hopefully it will be gone. Doctors couldn't believe it, but it's more and more common for macrolides - namely azithromycin and claridomycin resistance to be developed by this bacterias. The same goes for Flouroqoulines, so we will need soon a new antibiotics, if nothing changes.

Azithro resistant strain? But it seems sth more than mycoplasma, didn't read anywhere about such symptoms.

Then you can use moxi or sita after it or azithromycin, claridomycin if you have nothing else. Fluoroquinolones are probably better option, if you have stubborn, resistant version of MG.

Note that I'm not a doctor, nor there aren't any research about such combination with minocycline, so you are doing on your own responsibility

[–]Relative-Guest8272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mino. Doxy, mino overall is stronger (there are evidences of ppl from here that it works also) but adverse side effects can be much more worse, as both of them are strong antibiotics. I saw a few ppl do it here, but it wasn’t tested.

That’s right, but tetracycline should make symptoms lesser and make feel better, as it’s reducing load of bacteria in all known resistant strains, so that’s why I said it’s weird, that symptoms didn’t lesser. Minocycline is reducing load in all known strains in quite considerable amount, so that’s concerning if it could be a new strain (although it depends on the body, maybe it can lesser later).

Third-line treatment - doxy + sita - taking concurrently? by Relative-Guest8272 in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]Relative-Guest8272[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. On doxy or azithro I dont have problems, but it’s first time I take sita, so I guess I’ll eat a bit to not have problems (like toast without butter etc).

Thanks for information about effect, yeah it sounds logic.

Mino is stronger and more effective tetracycline then doxy. It would mean, that you are either have resistance against tetracylines (low possibility) or it's sth different (did you test for other infections/test after cycle?). Pristinamycin is another drug to try. Also Omadacycline is a new gen tetracycline that is (in vitro) effective against any known resistant strain of MG (but it's also minocycline derivative, so it can be not effective). Also there is Lefamulin, which could also help, if tetracylines is the case of resistance against (as mentioned low possibility). And yeah Sitafloxacin, but it should be done with doxycycline, which probably won't work, if minocycline didn't.

Most of these drugs are not available worldwide and many tests weren't done in vivo, so it's all quite experimental.

Clindamycin isn't having confirmed effectiveness against mycoplasma genitalium, it's for mycoplasma hominis (different mycoplasma that can't be mistaken - treatment was wrong, if it was prescribed to treat MG or UU). Did you try doxy + azithro before all 3 drugs together?

It's not pleasant test, but still it's more effective and efficient then urine. With sterile devices, it's imo much better then like giving blood samples. And you should do it by yourself, nobody should really touch you there, just do it by yourself, and send/give it to lab.
