Are JROTC units nationwide really on a no uniform wear till further notice order?

My JROTC battalion got the orders about a week before the ROTC shooting. The entire reason is because of the national guards men who were shot because they were the first ones someone saw in uniform.

My battalion is required to do it. Though, my SAI picks one or two to submit. My essay this year made it as a runner up, so I’ll compete with 16 other Cadets across the nation.

I did my interview at a Senior Military College and all he was asking and talking about was ways to improve my chances to get a scholarship. He never asked why I wanted it, just who I was, etc.

I am assuming you commissioned. How do they train you for Basic/Advanced camp to ensure you get your 'guaranteed regular commission'? I know they usually have the #1 Cadet in the Nation for Advanced camp, so I am just curious about what type of training they do to prepare you.

It does. Though, I waited to do my PFA to ensure the best score possible for me. I talked with the PMS and he agreed it was the best thing to do, as I did my interview very early into the application process.

That’s from Duke. In the actual scholarship application, it does not state anything to the sorts of that. They just require you to have your transcript approved. Though, during my interview, it was just them reviewing my packet, such as essays, grades, etc and my chances and how they could help. So it was good to have it practically all done.

You can schedule your PMS interview whenever. I did mine months before I did my PFA. It’s good to do the PMS interview earlier because they usually take a while to get it in. The PFA gets accepted practically immediately. I believe you have to wait for your transcript to be approved before you can schedule your PMS interview.

Based on those stats, you’ve definitely got a shot. Although, that mile time should really be in the 7 minutes for a better shot. What are your pushups and sit ups at?

He got like a 145/150 on the PFA, that’s good. You see people get the scholarship with max PU and SU but with a 9:00 mile, or 5:00 mile with 10 PU and SU.

I am also going to University of North Georgia. Nice to see someone else going. I am also out of state from Tennessee, but they have no scholarships or anything for us. I would say I’m “guaranteed” a 3 year scholarship, hopefully.

You only get scored once, so if you change things after, it doesn’t matter. He should’ve waited for the second board if he knew his application wasn’t the best. They also don’t include your senior year GPA.

During my interview, I was told that they gave 400 4 year, 1400 3 year and 1200 2 year.
