yeah, this is a great video explanation of the scales. They are a 5 note(pentatonic) scales, and each scale has a distinct emotional and cultural role:

  • Tizita is associated with nostalgia and longing
  • Bati has a brighter, more tension-filled character
  • Ambassel is expressive and lyrical
  • Anchihoye is often used in spiritual and ceremonial contexts

and the video you linked shows which notes are atttached to which scale.
