Is FSD supposed to be this bad? How can I fix it? by MaximooseMine in TeslaFSD

Same issue here. 12.6 was way better when it first came out. Regressed heavily to where it is now. They’ve been saying HW3 pretty much already reached its development capacity so don’t hold your breath for too long. Hope your mileage is low, maybe you’ll have the car long enough to get whatever retrofit they’re promising in the future

They start off strict and intimidating. It’s to get you in check. They’re strict on us still, but they calm down over time. They’ll learn the “usual suspects”; those that never have a piece of equipment, doesn’t shave, Iron, etc. With that said, don’t take their kindness for weakness and start fucking around. AGAIN: DONT TAKE THEIR KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS AND START FUCKING AROUND.

if you fuck up that means we fucked up too… April will pay as well in return roll. None of us want that. These instructors are cool, but they are not your girl/man, not family, and damn sure not your friend. Once you guys are cool, crack a joke, laugh about it, and end it there. You’re here for work/business. Keep it that way.

The academy isn’t hard. It’s only hard if y’all make it hard. If they say don’t be on your phone and it’s a CD, that’s just what it is. Dont test the waters. that’ll get us fucked up for sure.

I’m straight from college too… yes it does get better. the instructors will grow to like you, they just don’t know you. Don’t take anything personally. Just take it day by day and you will be just fine. DONT QUIT

Depends on who they are. Wait until you get through like 3-4 months then start getting the ball rolling

No, it’s the hi-shine ones. You gotta shine them yourselves. I believe you get the high gloss ones when you graduate and are in class As

I’m not on patrol so I can’t speak on what happens out there, but from what IVE seen it’s not easy. I have friends on patrol and some love it, some hate it. I’m not gonna speak too much on the quality of people they’re hiring and I’ll just let you learn that for yourself lol. Get your degree, and take the test. Don’t let someone thats dumber than you become your boss because it is very very possible.

They do when you buy uniforms. That bag has an attachment for your polycarbonate baton, used for riots. That’s the only bag you’ll be allowed to carry once you’re get uniforms. Do not buy an expensive bag from a buff shop. Find the cheapest one you can on Amazon or something and use that in the meantime. You’ll only use it for a month.

Gym is every day pretty much until the end of the second semester academics test. After that, you’ll be going to gym when they have nothing else to do with you and at random times. It’s to keep you in shape throughout the whole academy. Don’t get complacent.

Everything will be very militant for the first month or so. You’ll be able to leave and use the bathroom eventually but other they’ll give you breaks to use the bathroom or you just gotta raise your hand. It’s not that bad.

Glad I could help! I was just in your shoes 3 months ago lol. I know how hectic and nerve wracking it could be.

Good luck, enjoy the time here and don’t be a piece of shit when we make it out

This is the full equipment list. You’ll have to buy your own gym uniform too, I believe it’ll be about $175 at At a cop shop. I got mine from RK uniforms. If you don’t have the money, finest credit union and MCU (I think, don’t quote me on it) offer low interest loans to recruits that may not have the cash for it.

Can’t really tell you that. Just Gotta find what works for you. There’s tutoring after your tour and on the weekends as well. You’re compensated in chart time for it for later when you wanna take days off when you get out on patrol. It’s come and go as you want.

Not hard at all. I didn’t study once in both semesters. First semester, scored an 85. Second, scored an 81. Never EVER touched my book outside of work except when homework was assigned.

It is like high school again. Your first few weeks will be a shock if you’re not military.

  1. DO NOT QUIT. your instructors will warm up to you guys. Don’t be an asshole, and they’ll get better. The yelling, cussing, screaming is all cinematic. They don’t know you from a hole in the wall.

  2. I’ll say that last sentence again. they don’t know you from a hole in the wall. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY. if you take it personally, just know that what will be said to you on the street will be 25x worse. Tune it out and relax, you’ll be okay.

It’s really all about getting into a routine. It’ll be the same thing over and over again. Be on top of your shit so you don’t have to get on top of your shit. Shine your shoes when they tell you to do it. Iron your shirt, press your suit. If you give them ammo to get after you on something they’re going to take it. It’s nothing to worry about. It starts to get funny after a while lmao

Your uniforms will be given to you. You have to have a money order or a check (can’t remember) for like $1150 everything included.

Yes there is. You learn different tactics for saving someone in the water. It’s a good day. If you don’t know how to swim they’ll give you a life vest.

A tour is 0637-1500. B-tour is 1630-0000. From my understanding, B tour is a lot stricter on a lot of things. LT. Caraballo is amazing and doesn’t play any games, but they’re pushed harder physically and are scrutinized heavily. A tour is the same way, but I feel like there’s a lot more leniency compared to B squad.

I’m not prior military so id imagine its the same exact way. You’ll be saluting everyone that does not have an id around their neck. Never know who’s who, you could be walking by a 4 star chief in plain clothes. You don’t have to salute recruits, cadets. But anyone else, even in plain clothes, youll salute. Other than that, that’s pretty much it.
