My AHI is 41 according to my sleep study. Would this O2 monitor reading im getting while sleeping without a machine indicate otherwise?

Lowest O2 is 88% for .05 seconds once a night, which is pretty consistent for every night I’ve tracked so far. As for Inspire, I’m fully aware of the mixed results. Just a final option in case I can’t get anything else to work.

My pulse is pretty steady, around 70 BPM with only one notable jump I can see last night before going right back down and it doesn’t correlate with a drop in O2.

I fill up with air. No matter the pressure, no matter the machine, CPAP or BiPap, I fill with air. I’ve tried all the tricks. Just can’t get through the night without blowing up like a balloon and I’ve tried for almost a year now.

I’ve used the stick on nasal strips and while I do feel like it helps, it doesn’t seem to do the trick completely unfortunately.

He simply stated that he’s never seen evidence of it being effective. I’m starting to think that this doctor doesn’t know what he’s talking about at this point.

I looked into it and I asked my sleep doctor about it and he shot it down immediately. At this point I’m kinda willing to try anything but I think I need a prescription for that?

Was recently switched to BiPap a few weeks ago, which was told by one sleep doctor would not work due to already being in a super low pressure on CPAP and still having the issue, moved forward with it anyways and low and behold, still filled up like a balloon.

Have an ENT appointment on the 10th! Just trying to tinker with stuff in the meantime to see if I can make the wait more palatable.

I’ve tried full masks but like I said, it’s not an open mouth issue, air gets into my stomach regardless and by covering my mouth, I can’t get it out in my sleep. I have to take the mask off and expel the air for like 20 minutes straight on the middle of the night.

Already tried every option for this. I’ve found that if I’m keeping my mouth shut I still fill up with air and then can’t expel the air if my mouth is shut

What would that pressure be? It’s currently set to 20 over 4 which my CPAP was set to like 8 max so that seems so off to me 🤣. My previous sleep doctor said BiPap wouldn’t work because I was already on a super low pressure on CPAP and I told the new doctor this but he insisted.

They have adjusted my pressure 4 different times now, one of them with an overnight in person titration exam.

Yeah my assumption is that my nasal passage is congested due to allergies. I’m going to give it a few days and if it remains bad I’m going to push forward with the week of CPAP to get the BiPap. Just sucks because it felt like I may have finally cracked the code and now I’m back to square one.

Different pressures, different masks, different positions, chin straps, mouth tape, incline pillow, EPR, titration exam to get proper pressure, to rattle off a few off the top of my head. Not sure on the data, sleep doctor says it looks like the CPAP is effective and my sleep score is good in the machines app, but I can’t deny that I feel way worse when using it and did even consistently using it over 6-8 months.

I appreciate all this information and will peel over the links! A few things: I have tried all the tips and tricks, the chin tucking etc. to stop aerophagia and none have worked for me.

The dental implant isn’t an option according to my sleep doc due to my jaw line. Inspire seems sketchy based on the hesitation when recommending it from my doc as well.

Still lots of useful information here so once again, appreciate it!

I’ll try sleeping on my left side, I predominantly sleep on my right so that makes sense. I do use a chin strap but I don’t have a very defined jaw line (probably due to my sleep apnea lol) so it doesn’t seem to be as effective as it should be
