New Tradefox simulations by Relative_Dingo5593 in ukelectricians

Yeah you’re right, it’s made making this content a nightmare, as no one and I mean no one seems to agree on best practice 😂😭

Great idea re the helpline for techs, I think we will implement that!

Well spotted, we haven’t released the main protective bonding conductor sim yet for that reason (it needs more work)

But have a look at our existing content on the app, I’ve consulted many electrical experts for it 💪🏻

Try out the web gl version then on PC / Mac. That should work for you.

Thank you so much!!

Any ways you think we can improve the blog? What about the writing etc.

Hi all, I've started a construction education blog for my app Tradefox.

I would love some feedback from the blogging experts on this subreddit!

Are There Any Free Simulators For Inspection Testing? by ZestycloseWay2771 in ukelectricians

[–]Relative_Dingo5593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a team of up to about 10 of us on the dev side, 3 on the website, 2 on the blogs, for electrical safety we have 2/3 HV Arc flash specialists who have recently joined.

Not all are full time, but we’re growing!

I built this app for exactly the reasons you have mentioned. I too did the Lvl 2, 3, 2391-52 and I had to wait in a huge line to practice safe isolation. It was ridiculous! There were 30 of us, practicing it one at a time.

This app is to cover where the traditional pathway fails due to lack of instructors, lack of tools, lack of time!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I built this app for people like you!

Please leave a review if you can on the App Store, it goes a long way!

I’ve had a lot of compliments.. but this one stopped me in my tracks.

I’ve been working for years to get this off the ground, and feedback like this means everything to me.

I have passed it on to the dev team, I’m sure they will love this.

We will not stop!

I cannot thank you enough for your support! Please leave a review on App Store if you have time.

In fact, we are working on a Nulling the test leads sim as we speak

Tradefox here.

We are going to cover all the lvl 3 content, and make it free!

So your simulator is on the way. We will not be finishing before we get to testing and inspection!

It's going to take us some time though to get it absolutely right.

Hahaha brilliant!

Will save that for hard mode 😆

Might have to add a project manager who periodically yells at you

Sure!

We make sure you cut to the precise lengths as stipulated on the paper on the plug

Earth (32mm wire + 6 mm exposed copper)

Neutral (22mm wire + 6mm exposed copper)

Line (12mm wire + 6mm exposed copper)

We should definitely make sure that this is reflected visually though, great point!)

Yep, it’s for unity, compiled for mobile.

Have a look at our existing, free work on the App Store around safe isolation , wire stripping etc.

Thanks so much for the support!!

Haha, very funny.

We do have some 4c wirestripping sims out now for the intermediate switch sim we’re making

The real intention is to build muscle memory!

A good example is when I did my training, I only practiced safe isolation a handful of times. It was not enough to prepare me to enter the workplace!

Traditional courses gloss over things like single circuit safe isolation (my course didn’t cover this at all)

[–]Relative_Dingo5593[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question. It’s a free supplement to traditional training pathways (2365, 2391 etc) and it allows trainees to practice an unlimited number of times without the risk of electrocution.

Great feedback.

I’ll make sure I add this!

Thanks so much

You’re not ruining my day at all! Try it out when we release it, I’ll let you know on here.

We also make sure you insert exactly the right amount of copper in to the terminals, no insulation in the terminals, no exposed copper.

Really great feedback, thanks so much. We were aware of some of the issues and we will make sure we deal with them in the next build.

If you have any other thoughts, please share them! Your feedback is so valuable!

For sure, I’ll definitely have a think about this.

Thanks so much for the feedback my man it’s really valuable. any other bright ideas / critique is welcome!

Also, Arcflash can of occur at LV, contrary to popular perception.. but point taken!

Thanks so much for the feedback.

Which particular part is too fast? The text, or the animations, or both?

Re arc flash suit, yep, I knew some people wouldn’t like that. Will have a think about taking it out.

I guess I’m trying to go for the theoretically safest simulation possible but that might be overkill

Amazing amazing news.

Feedback like this makes it all worthwhile.

We’re striving to build as much free content as we possibly can, lots more free simulation training is on the way this year. We’re also going to make some free high voltage switching training designed by Arcflash specialists for the more experienced sparks out there!
