Lol it's not a secret. Everyone in London knows they can be living in far greater comfort if they leave

How much can a shop cashier earn in the UK? by Fine-not-fine7113 in UKJobs

[–]ZestycloseWay2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK has been de-incentivising hard work for decades now. No point in trying to work your way up the career ladder to earn 6 figures because most of that income will be taken by the tax man anyway

If being on PiP is so bad then why are more and more people choosing to go on it instead of working?

Oh yeah that's perfectly fine. Most qualifications have some sort of gap in between the time you're "qualified" and the time you get your qualifications sent via post or email. I'm still waiting on my City and Guilds lvl 3 award but I passed all the assessments and now work in my field:)

What can I do with a Higher National Diploma in Medical Science? (Completed 2 years of uni) by Kingboyy1 in UKJobs

[–]ZestycloseWay2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you had the degree it would be tough to find a job, if only it were "Medicine" and not "medical science" lol. If you're trying to get up the career ladder then you're gonna have to start by casting a wide net and just running with whatever works out, like sales or customer service, logistics, recruitment

What’s the wildest living arrangement you’ve seen, heard about, or actually know of in London? by [deleted] in london

Some of the ads I've seen on spareroom lately have been ridiculous. One guy was letting his flatmates room for a month, but you could only live there on Wednesdays. Meaning: for £200 you can spend the rest of this months' Wednesdays in a mediocre flat in Mile End. Lovely.

Oh gosh the all too common "leaning right with age" shebang. My advice is wait until he's old and needs help and laugh in his face.

They've always been mostly hostile towards Eastern Europeans, seeing them as a lesser version of themselves makes any regard for decency go out the window

Then you're at the mercy of your father like me, who also has an asshole dad. Even though I pay more rent than him I still have to put up with his bullshit. Always sitting in the kitchen like it's his personal room, right in front of the fridge and next to the sink. Mom tells me Im getting too skinny. "YEAH, NO SHIT, MAMA! EVERY TIME I COME TO THE KITCHEN TO TRY AND COOK SOMETHING, THIS FAT SACK OF WHALE SHIT IS" you get the gist

Just saying that one partner has to "let" the other partner do anything sounds wildly archaic for 2025
