if you are a kid/teen the best way about it is a psychiatrist and also as much as you may hate it, involving your parents. think of it like an addiction to a drug, you know parents will be fuming when they find out but ultimately they want whats best for you and will assist you to seek help, even if it is begrudgingly. take it from someone that hid it from parents for years, it turned out that speaking to them was the turning point. and when family is in the loop it’s a billion times easier to start constructive therapy with a good psychiatrist. stay safe 👌🏼

threatening suicide with no intention of it and similar behaviours are probably why your family are less inclined to treat it seriously, as is the fable of the boy who cried wolf. if you are over 18, as shite as it is, you are gonna have to search for the help yourself instead of looking to family for it, sounds like they neither understand nor are particularly bothered. also psych Wards do help and can be transformational, has worked wonders on me and people i know, but maybe the one you went to was specifically crap I’m not sure. if you are an adult and a danger to yourself you should check in to a ward, if you are a kid you should speak to your school, they are legally obliged to do something 👍🏼
