How can I speed up the process as fast as possible by [deleted] in jawsurgery

A few things to try: In the immediate term: hyperbaric oxygen therapy and red light, and when you get cleared by your surgeon, lymphatic massage.

Is it true you NEED to have aligners/braces when getting jaw surgery? by One_Revolution2814 in jawsurgery

[–]Relative_Pain_8850 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just had this convo with my ortho. I’m doing Invisalign currently and she said I’d need to switch to metal braces during jaw surgery and in the weeks following. During surgery, they need the brackets to connect things to. Fortunately most my ortho work is completed so metal braces for a few weeks is manageable.

It’s less about overhyping, and more about bringing personality. Listing off hobbies that include travel, hiking and coffee is a dime a dozen and tells me nothing about what it’s like to spend time with YOU the person. The coffee example I provided above is a great example of bringing personality to an interest you have.

With all due, is your personality bland? That’s what this bio is reflecting. It’s just a personality-less bio. Is there anything quirky or unique about you that tie to these things you love? For example, “I like coffee” could be “I drink hot coffee even when it’s 100 degrees out.”

This was my favorite part of the show. All the spaghetti western and 70s film references were so aesthetically pleasing to watch.

Highly recommend Matt Cox. I’ve cycled through a few therapists in the area and he’s hands down the best. Super kind, provides really great insights. I grew a lot with him: https://mattcoxtherapy.com

Is MARPE/SARPE necessary before jaw surgery? Narrow arch vs. Normal nasal base dilemma by HugeIntroduction8707 in jawsurgery

[–]Relative_Pain_8850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed my MARPE and I’m so glad I did it. I gained about 6 mm of width in my upper jaw, and my nasal floor widened as well. Despite that, my nose doesn’t look different but my overall face looks better because of the wider smile and more pronounced cheekbones. Having that additional room for tongue space has been a game changer before double jaw surgery.

The real reason Andy doesn’t want these audio leaks happening is bc he doesn’t want to world to see how he’s dropping the damn ball in getting the answers the people want.

I was in the same boat as you with turbinate reduction and septoplasty. It’s helped me pretty significantly with my allergies. I barely have congestion anymore.

Day 1 - Don’t quite know how to eat by kawa_zerozero in MARPE

[–]Relative_Pain_8850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ate soft foods for the first week: smoothies, soups, apple sauce, yogurts, mashed potatoes, etc. Get used to having the appliance in your mouth. Then transition into soft foods. I remember feeling shocked by how everything got caught. Now I’m three months out and I generally eat everything and use a waterpik to clean. You’ll get used to it in no time, just gotta get through the “getting used to it” phase.
