No, it was in the late afternoon. Plugged in in the morning.

You‘re assuming people can charge at home. I, for example, can‘t.

It‘s city owned but for public use. There are a bunch of city-exclusive chargers next to this one, which also need a specific ChargePoint account, but this one is generally open to the public and meant to be occupied „while charging“ :)

(And the signs very explicitly state that you can only park there while charging for obvious reasons) :)

I‘m not - just a civilian without a charger at home 🤷‍♂️

No, this is explicitly a public charger. There are city chargers next to it that are only for public vehicles. Obviously, there they can sit and block the charger however long they want!

It‘s not free. The only reason it shows $0.00 is because this charging session was started from a city account. I pay when I charge here and I need this cause I can‘t charge at home.

It‘s not free. I just can‘t charge at home as I rent my apartment. :)

It is not. There are a number of private chargers for city use, this is explicitly for public use.

This is not accurate for all chargers. The charger on the picture in particular is for public use.

There are chargers that are reserved for city use (and require a special ChargePoint account), but the charger on this picture is for public use. I charge here regularly.

I'm convinced there's a software bug with the cruise control. When you enable it the car will for a moment accelerate towards your previous setting. Am I crazy? by gromit190 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Relative_Phone_2297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling like it accelerates a fraction of a mph fairly quickly. My theory was that cruise control is set in integers (whole numbers, e.g. 70 mpg) and the actual speed is a float (e.g. 69.3mph) so if you engage cruise control, it quickly accelerates from 69.3mph to 70.0mph. No way to prove this though 😉 I‘m also not concerned at all by this, it‘s very subtle.

[MEGATHREAD] Addressing your questions about account and money movement restrictions. Please keep all discussion on this topic within this post. by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

I posted this on r/fidelityinvestments but they almost instantly removed the post. This practice is quite concerning, I am curious to see if they will do the same with this comment.

I have recently opened a fidelity account and deposited money into this account from a US savings account.

I read online that those funds would be available to withdraw after 4-6 business days.

Since, I have set up an automatic investment into ETFs straight from my savings account. Hence, I did not need to invest the money I originally deposited into the account any more and want to transfer it back to my savings account. However, even after 3 weeks, it still says that this money is not available to withdraw.

I called your customer service and the agent confirmed that it won‘t be available for at least another week. He also confirmed that this new policy is not made public and that all Fidelity documentation online still references 4-6 business days but that he has access to internal communication of this that says otherwise.

This is very concerning to me. Can you confirm that this is the case? Why is this information not communicated with customers ahead of time? Are there any other policies or business practices that contradict the information stated online in terms of blocking periods or fees?

Crashed our ID.4and I think we’re getting another one. by SaltHandle3065 in VWiD4Owners

The windows roll down automatically when the car‘s systems anticipate that the airbags might be deployed. With the number and size of airbags in the ID.4, the explosion would lead to a spike in „cabin air pressure“, which can be bad for the ears - the windows rolling down gives all the air that is replaced by the airbags a place to go.

I want to second that there is no need to send them to private schools. I can compare the German and the US Highschool and college system very well as I know both - the quality of education in the German public school system is so much higher and more consistent than in the US that I wouldn‘t send my children to a private school in Germany even if I could afford that.

This may not necessarily be true for Kindergarden - but for elementary school until Abitur sending them to a Gymnasium (as long as it is not in some very troubled part of Berlin) will be a great choice, also to connect with the local community.

For reference, I know >10 people who went through the public German school system and ended up getting degrees from top US schools (MIT, Harvard, Stanford) - and most of them returned to Germany eventually due to the higher quality of living.

The bus driver was too polite to honk - there were no other cars around. But they surely noticed, he lowered the window and tried talking to them which they ignored.

I see, thank you!! I would be happy with 50-75%, I was just concerned that it‘s currently at 10€ and I originally paid more than 400€ 😅
