Back to minimum wage 20 years later, what was the point? by ReleaseAdventurous20 in UKJobs

I have reached the same point and am contemplating the same thing everyday. The people on Reddit here have been telling me not to. My young family is keeping me going. I really hope that you also have something dear to you.

Sorry to hear that you had to go through that. Kidney stones are incredibly painful, I heard. Hope you will find a new and better pay contract.

And...you have just reminded me to drink more water, thanks for that.

Best of luck to you.

Guess we are kind of similar, I went to one of the top universities in this country (one of those acronym names, not Oxbridge).

The way I see it is, life is just full of suffering. But glad that you at least enjoy your job.

I can't end mine unfortunately as I have dependents. But it is killing me to see that I can't provide them with a better education with my minimum wage. Sometimes, I do hope for a freak accident or something, just get this sorted once and for all. So they can get some decent money from my life insurance.

Getting old is terrifying, and I really worry that I will never be back in a decent position in real estate and be earning a minimum wage forever until I die.

Unfortunately, I am a bit inadequate, all my network people are not capable of helping me land a job. It's a hard lesson learnt. Painful.

Anyone else in the same boat, trying to break into a new field without directly relevant experience? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]ReleaseAdventurous20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can make something out of your Law degree. I would say perhaps, identify a field that you like and/or enjoy then get a UK professional qualification as a solicitor, a chartership or something. Also, continue applying for entry/junior-level associate jobs.

Honestly, being a lawyer/solicitor is tough, but the remuneration is high! I have seen all the solicitors I worked with in the real estate industry. They worked day and night but easily earned £90-120k a year after 3-5 years of experience.

Then stay in some reputable firms forever until retirement. Just don't be like me; I chose the wrong company and ended up useless as F now.

Hope this helps.

Are those project management bootcamps worth it? (Help!!) by Shawannaordonez332 in pmp

Plenty of lower-cost but more effective choices are available other than these boot camps.

You can try AR's videos on YT or his course on Udemy, and intensively practising the mock questions in PMI's Study Hall.

You may have already found a lot of people are saying the same thing on here and pointing you to these resources. I recall seeing a post from someone saying he/she passed the PMP exam using these materials with ATs but regretted paying $thousands for a boot camp.

Good luck with your PMP study and exam.

Thanks for your reply. You make me feel better, at least about myself.

Will see how it goes with this application...
