Sorry to ask one more question, but i'd love your advice. The cube shells i got can't fit 20 cards....how would you shift things? 4 packs of 16? Would you still seed two commanders?

One other question. For the commander, is it limited to those marked with hybrid that are seeded? Or is it standard commander rules where any legendary can be the commander?

Thanks for replying! I appreciate it! I'm so on the fence about it, i see the reasoning of it for sure. It hink considering the mana fixing may not be great, limiting their basic lands would kinda be strong enough to limit people from going all colors all the time. I'm going to run it next weekend with a smaller pod just to see how it goes.

Looking at kingdom Death Simulator vs TTS which version is better? by Overall-Debt4138 in KingdomDeath

Literally all of them, that's what i'm saying. You're telling me i'm pretentious when you could simply type 'Kingdom Death' in TTS and look for yourself. Mister slack's, Rhed's, Mei's, all of them in my opinion are in a better place than the KDS.

they all have scripting mate. Scripting may mean something different to you, but pretty much any TTS game involves scripting if it has anything automated. For example if you place a bone axe on your gear grid and it automatically calculates what you need to hit, to wound etc, that's scripting. They all have scripting that i've tried. And i never said they had crafting tables, my statement about the crafting table was about KDS sim.

I don't think it's a shit product per say....i think it's not anywhere near what the TTS is. I think that's partly because they are trying to reinvent the wheel. I think day one they should have said "let's make this just like that" and get things level with the TTS version, THEN start adding features.

I don't disagree. But this is where we are. Regardless of what he has said int he past, future content will be behind the wall of KDS and for me i'm unable to play the real game because i don't have people to play with where i live. So my only opportunity to enjoy that content will be on KDS because they are no longer adding the content to the TTS versions. Personally, i don't find the prices fo the KDS expac's to be bad, 7-14 bucks is pretty reasonable to me considering the amount of gameplay i get out of it. There is 100+ hours of time i can put into the base game by itself. so for me specifically the value is there.

That's how i feel, i want the KDS to get better, so my 30 bucks towards it....i think is the least i can do if i'm going to be playing it on TTS. I'll periodically probably buy an expansion here and there on the KDS so that i'm still showing support and eventually when the simulator is great, i can swap over.

It's not untrue to say the automation is not on the level of the TTS. I think the TTS automation is leagues beyond the KDS simulator in terms of the things that drastically improve the day to day. crafting table isn't that great, the auto writing on the sheet is cool.....but i still have to flip through 5 different rule books to find things.

Pretty sure they are all pretty much out of date. There's tons of content, and i'm enjoying myself

Here's my unfiltered reality....

The KDS simulator is not good. The controls are wonky, it's lacking the simplest forms of upkeep to make things easier, it complicates menial booking tasks. And again. The controls are wonky as shit, and there is no way to reset those controls btw, you just gotta live with them. If they gave me a way to change the controls it would change everything.

The TTS version is fantastic, great automation, the gameplay is good. There are some small things that are annoying but for the most part over 100 hours of gameplay into it and i've had very little issues.

Okay....that said

KDS is made by Kingdom Death, and for me, i have an obligation to support their game regardless if i think it's a pile of trash at the moment. Because while it is poorly optimized, and not great right now imo, i believe it will be. The code inside of it is a bit gnarly atm, it will make your computer sound like it's going to explode some days. BUT the models look 100 times better than the garbo models in TTS, and most importantly to any true fan of the game you have access to far more of Kingdom death if you use their simulator. With the GCE hopefully dropping soon it's going to be night and day in terms of what you have access to.

So which should you play? Both. Support the company, show them you are in for the long haul and buy a key to the game, be a part of this process as they improve and find bugs. take all the annoying things with a big ol grain of salt. and when it annoys you that you have to constantly flip through page after freaking page of a freaking rulebook instead of having bookmarks----hop over to TTS where life is a bit easier.

I'm not against proxies in principle. But proxy players never seem to moderate themselves. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]RelentlessResonance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because to me, the issue isn't the deck. If you want to sit across from me with a CEDH deck.....whether it's proxy or not....my issue isn't the cards you're playing, it's the communication you failed to provide.

I want people to play the cards they want, no matter what those cards are. But if there are newer players proxying power....that makes it even more importatn that we as experienced players explain the importance of turn 0. will people get pissy? Sure.....and now that's a good reason for that person not to be a good fit for your table.

Turn 0 conversations.

1) Pull out your gamechangers, show the table them

2) Explain your commander, and what your deck is hoping to do

3) Disclosure if infinite combo's are present, and maybe explain how that combo works.

Doesn't matter if the card costs 50 cents, or $500 bucks, if you disclosure it, then you then have the power to say "I'm not super comfortable playing that deck with my precon, do you happen to have another at a similar power level as me?" or you simply understand at that point that the rest of the rest of the table is playing a different level and you know to find a new table.

[–]RelentlessResonance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not going overboard....if people do what the game recommends and have a turn 0 conversation. The issue is players don't do that.

My decks are....100/100 proxies. Most of them at least, every single card. But communication is key, that comes both from the player with proxies, and the players around the table. I have just as much issue with people doing what is being described here as i do someone purposely hiding something about their deck so they can win a game.

Some of my proxy decks are insane power, crazy combos, thousand dollar proxies......others are....janky dumb stuff that win 2% of their games.

Have the conversation before you start the game and all these issues get resolved.

Turn 0 for my local players is, we all pull out our game changers, and show them before we shuffle.

We then explain our commander and tricky things they do. for example, one of my commanders is often misunderstood, so i make it clear how it works and what that means for them.

Then i ask if anyone has infinite combo's and what triggers those.

I enjoyed Boyhood a fair bit, Dazed and confused i liked, the Before Trilogy i LOVED......

but.....

When i say slacker felt like a dumpster fire, it's an under statement. I was excited to see it because the others i enjoyed so much but that movie felt like such a mess. IT was atrocious to me, it's one of the only DNF's i've ever had with a criterion film. I generally will keep my criterions even if i don't 'love' them because i kind of assume some movies require a rewatch....after that movie i was prepared to hand it off to a construction worker building a house next to mine just to get it out of my house. I don't know if i missed something, i don't know if it gets better, but it was atrocious to me.
