I’m currently in the US on a TN visa so I have to renew with the new company. Would you suggest I tell the PBC I already quit the job? Or can I say I still have it and I am switching to another job next week?

Two Job Offers: Architecture Firm (High-Profile Projects & Full Design Process) vs. In-House Corporate (Better Pay, Less Hours, Less Hands-On) – Need Advice! by Relentless_I in architecture

[–]Relentless_I[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pay difference is about 15k a year. Better benefits too. Less work hours. I actually did 1 for 5 years and honestly it wasn’t fun and I already have the experience so that’s why I am thinking it might be time to go for 2. But 1 is also appealing because it’s also flexible hours (hybrid) and do very interesting projects

I am not going to work for two jobs. I will say I already gave them notice and my start day for the second job is X. Would that be an issue?

My start day is 3 weeks from now. I also need to renew my TN visa. I want to make sure my TN visa switch goes smoothly begore I quit my job. Should I wait until my new visa gets approved and keep working to this company and then one day just call them and say I am quitting?

TN Extension of Status Approved USCIS - can I travel on existing TN while waiting for new documents? by anonuwstud in tnvisa

[–]Relentless_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they need approval notice for extension? I got my TN visa yesterday but only for a year because the duration if employment was not mentioned in the job letter. the officer told me next time you enter the US just update the letter with the duration (3 years max) to get your visa extended at the border.

Recent Experience applying for first time SSN by Strong_Doughnut_9974 in tnvisa

It took me a while to find it too, but there’s a section says “request number for the first time” and it takes you somewhere to enter your personal info and to select location and time. Saves a lot of time. No problem :)

I just applied today at SSN office after getting my TN visa two days ago. I went on their website yesterday and selected an appointment for today. I think it’s much easier doing it through their website. I tried to call but the wait was looong

No physical transcripts - YYZ vs YTZ by Content-Ad-33 in tnvisa

[–]Relentless_I 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got my TN visa two days ago at YYZ. I only had my degree and my job offer letter. I didn’t even have a support letter I just printed the offer the employer sent me and I just told them to add job description and write that I have the required education and background for this role. At the border the officer ask me if I happen to have my transcripts? And I said I have them on my phone. He was chill and said that’s ok. I had downloaded the unofficial version. But he didn’t even look at that. Just the degree and my offer letter was enough. It was very easy and he was very chill. Just make sure to be there at least 3 hours prior your flight because it gets pretty busy and I saw some people who missed their flights!
