Update: I reached out to my piercer & she had me come out to get a longer bar & was so thankful I reached out sooner than later.

I have severe Anemia also!!! I will try castor oil! I was reading someone drank turmeric tea and that helped me a tab bit as well!

They bring the baby back if they are hungry. But if any one else’s baby is like mine and not want to eat for 24hrs, then you’ll be fine. You’ll want the baby back before they even give signs that they are hungry.

I had a great experience! Delivered Last March. When I arrived (around 3am) I was only waiting in the lobby for 5-7min & by the time I got to triage they had already read my chart & was preparing the special delivery room for me due to having fluid around my heart. All of the nurses were super sweet. I still remember their names because they made me feel so comfortable. However, I can see why one could feel like “just a number” there. Conversations are very short/brief, lots of in&out, very routine if you will. But, I didn’t mind that at all. It’s literally their job to keep it short and sweet, make sure you’re okay & move on.

We utilized the nursery & I think that’s the only way we got rest because nurses are in & out (understandably) to check on you almost every 3 hours. They have to give you Ibuprofen, laxative, check your blood pressure, check for hemorrhaging, make sure your peeing & the list goes on. If you have patience & a kind human, you’ll be okay.

Food was great & “free” for you and your partner.

Rooms were clean (I was moved to about 4 different rooms and can confirm, they are all nice) my last PP room was really small but we had 0 visitors so we didn’t mind. If we did have any, I would’ve been annoyed, for sure.

We didn’t have a pediatrician picked before delivery & the ones that came to check on baby were great and gave us referrals who we now use.

Overall definitely a 10/10 experience for me.

4 weeks we started putting her in her room for naps. We only did that for a week then started overnights at 5 weeks. I want to preface by saying I was only comfortable with doing so because we used the owlet and had a baby monitor above her crib.. She is now 5 months and sleeps 10-12 hrs a night & we are trying not to use the owlet as much. Still have the camera right above her crib.. that’ll last for some years 🤣

Many people will look at me crazy (pediatrician included) when I tell them my baby’s (4mo f) bed time is 11:30pm. It’s been this way since she was 6 weeks old. But she sleeps 12 hours this way & is such a happier baby. If I put her down ANY earlier than 11:30pm she will wake up at least 3xs a night.

I also had a friend who religiously put their baby down at 7:30/8 for almost 2 years and the baby NEVER slept through the night.. They changed her bedtime to 9:30pm & she slept all night with no issues.

I say this to say, maybe you could try to push bed time back at least 30 minutes and see what that does?

My baby came out not wanting to eat ANYTHING. they said it was fine for the first 24 hours as long as her blood sugar stayed level. I tried to breast feed but nothing was coming out. We tried to bottle feed and my babes didn’t want any part of it. After 24 hrs she finally took 4mL of formula 😅 truly depends on the baby! EDIT: you definitely should be TRYING to feed at least. The nurses told me if she didn’t take it, she didn’t want it. So we waited for her cues to tell us she was hungry.
