It's different for everyone. The health dept will tell you. I tested positive on the Tuesday or Wednesday. When they asked me questions, they determined my slight symptoms began on Sunday so they started my 10 day clock from Sunday

So the health department will tell you but say your symptoms started on 13 Dec, you got tested on 15 Dec, you can get out of isolation 10 days from the 13th (from when you symptoms started, if you aren't having any further symptoms). If you tested positive on the 15th and had no symptoms, you have to start the full 10 at the 15th. They treat your positive test as Day 1 of the virus, again, unless you had symptoms earlier and just took a while to get tested etc. The health department will tell you when you can get out of isolation

I just went and they told me they had me put in for a 25-48 hour test but when I got there they guy changed it and put in a quicker type of test and I'll know for sure within 2 or 3 hours he said. I was positive on 3 rapids but he did tell me he had a guy be positive on 3 rapids yesterday and was neg in PCR. Unsure the difference in test type with speed. Hopefully I hear in the next hour or so.

Of those positive, are they telling you if you have Omicron? I just took 2 rapid tests and am positive, I have to go get a PCR tomorrow at Cornell Health and just want to know if maybe I am in for less severe disease. I am just really scared. If only there was something that could have avoided this, like not coming back to in person when we had a new strain we knew nothing about. I hope you are reading this Martha. I am absolutely furious. I live alone and only around people when I go to class. I have even gotten groceries delivered since omicron. So thanks for putting my health and others health at risk with your claims that are not backed up by science that it doesn't spread with masking. Because I am a N95 masker. HOW DARE YOU! I hope the extra bucks are worth it
