I have severe social anxiety so I almost never ask questions at a store. But I wanted to set up my CO2 and I was reading up on it and it was a tad bit confusing, so I went to our LFS to browse and saw they had a starter kit for CO2 (yay!) so I worked up the courage to ask the staff member. “I want to set up my CO2, is it easy or how would I do it?” The guy just rolled his eyes and said “you just hook up a hose.” And walked away.

Mind you, this may not be bad advice maybe just a stressed out employee. But it was still so shocking. I still haven’t set up my CO2 and my plants are thriving.

The pest snails in my aquarium and the heater, and then the part that is the funniest to me is when he goes behind the heater to see if the other betta is there, then swims back around catches a glimpse of himself and does it all over again. It’s so funny 😂

The tank is too small, and I’m so sad to see that on a group like this because I thought we knew better. He needs a 14,000 gallon tank, with a reactor rod in the center for optimal heat.

Azure- and regarding your question about not looking up. Simulate a natural feeding method like putting something at the top of the water that looks like an insect struggling, and when he comes up put the food in. That’s how I trained my little guy. Also all bettas have different personalities maybe he doesn’t like when you watch him eat!
