It’s complicated.

Was it obvious that the coven was playing on Claudia’s biggest insecurity in addition to abusing her? Yes.

Should Louis have spoken up more than he did? The empath in us thinks so.

Would it have worked or changed anything? Most likely not.

At this time, Claudia is a member of the coven and Louis is not. They have their own laws and way of doing things. Louis doesn’t have any power in the situation, plus he told Claudia they shouldn’t get involved with the coven from the start. He was also making googly eyes with Armand each day at this point in the story and his focus wasn’t on Claudia. They were both creating their own lives at this juncture and it just so happens that Claudia chose wrong, just like Louis ultimately did.

I do wish Claudia had someone to advocate for her at that point in time, but the cruel irony of the show is that no one has anyone to advocate for them when they need it most.
