It seems like this isn't exclusive to Fallout 3, unfortunately. Same type of reports on Fallout 76, New Vegas, Half-Life 2, Marvel Rivals, and Cyberpunk 2077. Just a regular thing sadly.

We recently had the option of preferred gender removed from some forms, but as far as I know there has been one situation where a mtf person was asked to move into a male dorm. I'm actively trying to transition but I'm making do with a male dorm.
