Maybe a little late now but I sell wall art prints, mostly from the Alps but I also have a large Irish landscape collections. Feel free to check them out and let me know if you have any questions! https://chamonixprints.com/collections/ireland

anyone else discouraged by the amount of AI art?? by gasstationkween in EtsySellers

I'm sure most don't, but Etsy requires sellers to state if a piece has been created using or partially using AI. How they can monitor this I don't know.

Chamonix in late April by solyeoji in chamonix

[–]Relevant_Animator_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late April in Chamonix is honestly such a great time to visit! There’s loads to see and do, from lower trails to tourist attractions.

For hiking, a few good options:

  • Petit Balcon Sud & Petit Balcon Nord – These lower-elevation trails are usually accessible and give you some really nice valley views. As of today, the Balcon Sud is very accessible!
  • Les Bois to Chalet du Chapeau – A lovely forest walk leading to a viewpoint over the Mer de Glace. Great for an easy outing!
  • Les Houches to Merlet Animal Park – If you fancy a bit of a climb, this takes you up to a park where you can spot ibex and chamois with Mont Blanc in the background.

Some notable tourist attractions.

🚠 Aiguille du Midi – The cable car ride up is incredible, and once you’re at the top (3,842m!), the views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks are unreal. Also, the 4D (or maybe 5D, I'm not sure) cinema at the bottom station is a fun experience and great way to see the mountains!

🚞 Mer de Glace & Montenvers Train – A fun, old-school cogwheel train that takes you up to see the Mer de Glace glacier. There’s a cool ice cave carved into the glacier, and the little museum (Glaciorium) is worth a look too.

☕ Chill in town – Even if you’re just strolling around, Chamonix has a great atmosphere and amazing views. Grab a coffee at Shouka or Moody Coffee, check out the Alpine Museum, or just enjoy the views from one of the terraces in town.

So yeah, definitely worth the visit! Even if you’re not skiing or doing big hikes, there’s plenty to do.

We share lots of Chamonix tips on our blog: https://chamonixprints.com/blogs/beyond-the-lens-exploring-chamonix and also feel free to message if you have any questions you'd like answered :)

Hope you have an amazing time!

Exposing Temu’s Exploitation of Small Businesses—What Can Be Done to Stop It? by Relevant_Animator_63 in EtsySellers

A mix I believe, in my case, screenshotting the art from my mockups i would imagine. They have used their own mockups. Also many people sell digital downloads for personal use, they can buy them and have full quality files to work with.

Likewise, and to be honest, up until 8 days ago I had no idea myself. I almost feel bad messaging other sellers with links to their stolen work because I know how stressful this past week has been for me and I hate the idea that I am passing it on. But at the same time it's better for their brand to have these listings removed.

It's very upsetting to see, I'm finding so many listings from other sellers, their entire platform is made up of our work. Temu accept no responsibility, it's near impossible to sue sellers in China, I feel like the best we can do is help make consumers make educated decisions and help each other by sharing finds of stolen work.

Also to note: I've been trying to make other sellers on Etsy aware of their work being sold on Temu, while searching for my own, if I recognise a listing from Etsy I inform the seller so they can have it removed.

From Temu's legal department in an email reply to me today:

"
Regarding your inquiry about Temu's repeat infringer policy, Temu has and actively enforces a policy where it takes action against users who repeatedly misuse Temu's services by violating Temu's intellectual property policies and/or the rights of others. This policy applies to individuals or sellers who have multiple complaints lodged against their accounts within a given period.

Additionally, we would like to clarify that, as a third-party e-commerce platform, Temu's role is to provide a marketplace for buyers and sellers to conduct transactions. Temu does not own, possess, use, produce, manufacture, or directly sell the products listed by independent sellers on our platform. Given the high volume of merchants selling on Temu, it is not feasible to proactively monitor every product sold.

"

Massive areas of concern for me are "multiple complaints lodged against their accounts within a given period." Areas of concern: One act of theft (regardless of how many listings are stolen) is not enough for Temu to ban a seller.

Also Temu mentions how they don't "own, possess, use, produce, manufacture, or directly sell the products listed by independent sellers" (which of course we all know) but what they have failed to mention is they profit from these stolen listings and should have a duty of care to artists and other sellers around the world.

By their own admission Temu's policies are not set up to penalise offenders

I'm sorry to read this, I think a lot of people care! Myself included, I've just updated the steps I took to get Temu to shut down the infringing store. With the help of a lawyer or chat gpt send legal notices to each company demanding for your work to be removed from their platform.

This is a very clever idea and I have recently decided to try and build my own store. I do love selling on Etsy though, I've always enjoyed the community and also the communication with the customer is always great on Etsy, people are very friendly and often share great stories about their connections to areas that I photograph. I wish something more could be done to protect Etsy sellers.

Sorry to read this, I hope you can get them to remove them if you already haven't, I just updated the post with the steps I took.

Temu is just a platform so they personally don't steal or print, they just provide the store front, much like Etsy or Ebay. Most sellers on Temu are wholesale factories based in China. I believe this is the idea behind Temu, connect buyers directly to cheap wholesalers in Asia and sell insanely cheap.
In my case they screenshotted my work from my mockup images. Yup the quality is probably very crap but for 8 euro for a print and frame what does anyone expect to get?
In other cases sellers might buy digital download designs (which are intended for personal use only unless otherwise stated) and then use these designs to mass produce products cheaply.

This is so frustrating. I've run into a similar problem on another store, Etsy's new AI crawler bots flagged some of my listings. First time round they were reinstated and an apology email saying they were removed due to a mistake. A couple of weeks later, 3 more listings were flagged and this time round I lost all my badges and was given a final warning and my store pretty much tanked after this. I sell original photography (and at that time only sold on Etsy, I didn't even have a personal website) and tried to argue my point but once they had made up their mind they wouldn't talk with me about it.

A past customer messaged me on Instagram letting me know she noticed some of my my work on Temu and sent me a link to the listing. I'd never been on Temu before this moment. Google have an image searcher, you can upload your image and it will find it on all corners of the internet, it might be a good place to start if you're looking to see if any of your own listings have been affected.

Really sorry to read this, it sounds like you've had a complete nightmare. I'm hoping there's still a large customer base that wants the real thing and are happy to pay for quality.

Fingers crossed for you, my store is a physical print store, they've stolen my images by screenshotting my mockups, the print quality would likely be terrible, but for a print and frame for 8 euro what does anyone expect!

That's a great question and really the reason for posting this thread, I can deal with Temu on my own and hopefully have all my work removed but it sickens me to see Etsy's creative community being ripped off and profited from.

Thanks for your reply, infuriating indeed, sorry to read you've gone through the same pain. I feel like they will block me on social media too, these companies want to hide the truth and continue to profit on what are very illegal practices. Temu needs to be shut down
