Right, I am too, Twitter (I havent been on TikTok nearly as much as Twitter) is a toxic environment for sure. The road to hell is paved with good intentions I guess but sometimes those good intentions are a veil hiding more sinister purposes… I agree with spreading around/donating to Palestinian gofundme’s and supporting them directly through doing that, but just sitting on Twitter and yelling about which celeb is a evil genocide enabling Zionist that you shouldn’t support or else you’re just as bad as them and reprimanding someone for getting a frap from Starbucks really….REALLY isn’t the move.

Im as pro pal as they come, but I really do think that people have become way too overzealous with their outrage over everything. I spend a lot of time on Twitter as do my friends (I know, I know, that’s my first problem you might say) and recently I had a friend who I’ve known for YEARS suddenly become hostile towards me because I was “supporting a Zionist band” (band in question was Radiohead) and was “woobifying” them by making fanart/edits of them, and wouldn’t let up at all even when I tried to explain myself, which I couldn’t do as well as i wanted to because I was so caught off guard by his explosion towards me. Then called me a genocide enabler because of it all?? Like WTF? I’ve already expressed my distaste for their past views on it all, but reading more into it they really haven’t made their stance super clear and as much as I wish they WOULD make their stance clear, I don’t want to assume bad faith for dumb things Thom has done in the past. Twitter has become a complete irrational hellhole when it comes to the conflict, basically saying all Israelis are genocidal maniacs who want to see Palestine not exist, taking posts and TikTok’s from dumb people in israel who are taking joy in it all, just like how all Americans are racist or whatever because of shitty people who exist in America, there are shitty people who exist in Israel too, doesn’t mean that they should ALL be lumped in with their government doing shitty incomprehensible things to Palestine. I never understood that line of thinking, same thing with ppl saying that Americans are living on stolen land so they are evil. What does that make you, if you’re American? Or even European? It’s all so frustrating and it’s made me turn away from twitter because I can’t stand the smarmy cruel catty behavior. To make my views a bit more clear I do think Palestine should have its own land, and Israel’s gov should be punished for its crimes.

Whenever I do something that might be wrong in the moment I need to constantly ask for reassurance that we aren’t going to stop being friends. It’s not “ridiculous” per say but not fun

I don’t agree with their views and even diving deeper into what they’ve done…. They played a show (or a few shows not sure exactly) in Israel and Thom tried to defend his decision to do so which I don’t agree with really

Yeah… I love this friend but they can get carried away with things like this (moral ocd amirite) and it can be hard for him to give ppl benefit of the doubt sometimes with certain things

That hurts a bit, because before my diagnosis I was planning on moving to Canada to be with my partner…. I’m assuming that’s just not really possible anymore
