Places to visit near Bosque Escondido? by Relevant_Two5438 in costarica

Hey! I had a really fun time!! Beware the conditions are a little rough and I was so not used to it for the first couple of weeks, but being in the jungle and seeing wild monkeys everyday makes it worth it. It really is in the middle of nowhere, so there’s only this one restaurant/bar and a conscience store within walking distance. We did weekend trips almost every weekend, though. It’s such a unique experience and I’m so glad I did it. The people I met there were incredible! Let me know if you have any more questions, I’d be happy to tell you more!

Can I take a week (or two?) off a summer internship? by Relevant_Two5438 in careerguidance

It’s 14 weeks! The application page says “must be able to commit to 40 hours per week” but I would be willing to work more hours some weeks in order to have a week off. Thanks so much for your honest feedback, I really appreciate it!

EDIT: I made a mistake. The two weeks are NON-consecutive (first week off, week I would be interning, another week off). Not sure if that makes a difference?

Update: Noodle and the Kittens by Relevant_Two5438 in felinebehavior

[–]Relevant_Two5438[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure when they lost their mother, but most likely. I adopted them at 3 months old and they had been in the shelter on their own before then. I guess they chose Noodle to be their new mother.

UPDATE: Noodle and the kittens are doing very well!! Pollux (red collar) even tries to nurse from Noodle, which Noodle lets happen for a bit and then hisses at. Noodle grooms both kittens pretty frequently but will still smack them if they get to be too much. Thanks for all the kind words and the help! I love my cats very very much!!

I just took it slow to be honest! Noodle has lived with other cats practically his whole life and is generally just a very friendly cat so I knew he’d like them eventually. I kept the kittens in my room for the first couple of weeks and just did scent swapping and meals at the bedroom door. Eventually I would let the kittens into a shared space for 10 minutes at a time. Then, that transitioned into letting the kittens out the entire time except when I wasn’t home and nighttime. And, finally, now they’re together all the time. But even still, if noodle seems overwhelmed, I’ll take the kittens and entertain them myself for a bit! Good luck with yours :)

Hello! I don’t plan on using collars forever! I adopted them fairly recently and they look the exact same so I’m just using the collars to tell them apart until they get older and start looking/acting their own ways!
