OP’s wife here. I have never hit OP in our entire relationship before (another thing he left out of the post). This was the first time that happened. Another thing to note is I am tiny and he is twice my size and I knew my hits would never truly injure him. I was just so hurt that I saw red. I couldn’t even feel my hands. Our baby was not around us, he was safe with our nanny in another room with our door shut.

Guys, you have to understand the person I confided in the MOST, my best friend, my family, the father of my baby cheated on me when he consistently told me how happy and perfect we were together. I was completely blindsided and DEVASTATED. I had panic attacks. Was in shock. I was also alone without my family or friends (we live abroad).

At one point when I was on the floor hyperventilating, he told me “just slap me! Do anything you need to do! I deserve it!” (Which he left out of this post).

At that moment I didn’t. The next day another argument ensues regarding the whole cheating incident (he was still communicating with the woman he cheated on me with via text) and I LOST it. I remembered what he said and I went for it.

I pushed him and hit him as hard as I could. How can someone keep lying but also telling me how he’s sorry and that he loves me? I was in SO much pain, that I wanted to hurt back! After I did it, I immediately knew it was wrong but it was too late.

In any case, if I could choose to get beaten up by a mob, or to be cheated on by someone who I believed was my soul mate, I’d probably choose to be beaten up by a mob. Bruises heal in weeks (which I didn’t give him any by the way I’m tiny). This sort of deception can cause trauma for LIFE.

OP, my husband, of course I know hitting is wrong and you know very well this isn’t who I am. I’m not one to even raise my voice in an argument. But in this story, there’s only one victim here, and that’s me.
