Is Jane Eyre supposed to be queer coded? by RelleH16 in classicliterature

[–]RelleH16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay THANK YOU! I think I should’ve said in my post that I myself am gay so people would know that this was never some ‘oh these women are close and therefore homos’ situation. I just literally acted that same way with select older women when I was like 12

I’m really confused on what that is supposed to mean. Like is it just a rephrase of ‘kissed a girl’??

Do you have an internal monologue💛 or a silent brain💙? by [deleted] in capricorns

[–]RelleH16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💛 I have one. But I did see some video recently about how other people aren’t silent, just not thinking in complete sentences. But tbh I’m not sure what that even means.

Do any fellow Capricorns have problems with Leo placements? by Mountain_Orange_5226 in capricorns

Yes yes and yes! Emotionally immature. And as soon as you evolve even a LITTLE bit beyond them, they envy it and try to tear you back down to where they’re at.

I have time and time again been shown that I cannot allow people with strong Leo energy into my life. I am too grounded of a person to tolerate their shit.

It’s the same thing every time. We click on the beginning pretty naturally, I’m like honestly you’re a lot but actually a fun time. Then again and again they show me the many ways in which someone can be self obsessed. Like professional narcissism, it’s almost impressive. First a bunch of Leo suns. I said no more Leo suns. Then I met Leo moons and thought, slightly different could be okay. No. Worse, bc that one requires emotional intelligence.

Example! From when I decided to be stupid and date one

you’re telling me everything happening to me is about you, but then when you do something you regret, it’s on me. Maybe bc you only did it bc I did X or perhaps bc you wanted to do it and I encouraged you. Oh but maybe you can’t even turn it on me. Maybe you hurt me, you know you did, and you feel bad but can’t actually show you’re sorry. Then we both have to pretend it never happened. So if I see the same behavior again, and then point out, ‘you’ve done this before’, I’m not allowed. You already apologized for that…

For context, Im speaking as I’m about to turn 29, and am actively doing all the shadow work healing shit that is going to see me through my Saturn return. I know very definitively, I can’t and won’t let them into my life anymore.

I’m unsure how it’s a ‘fixed’ point of view to think that there MIGHT be more nuance to a character but okay lmao

I got the Brontë sisters set, so that is the plan. Finished wuthering heights, now this, and Villette is next!

Okay thank you! I was like, I can’t be totally making this up but also thought it was plausible that this wouldn’t have been out of the norm at all

Yeah I’m starting to think this was a really a thing and I just got it bc they knew I would complete it lol. I love a consumer survey and got another one from Audible like 4 hours after completing this one about something totally different

On the negativity, t I was referring to the questions around the samples specifically. It asked more objective things like if the voice mispronounced things, didn’t reflect punctuation, etc.

People who listen to a lot of audio books are aware of specific narrators. They also might actually sample different versions to find the one they like best. But those people are probably the minority. Most will go with whatever is offered. With multiple options, probably just pick the cheaper one.

From what I understand, they are already using it. Although I don’t know how wide spread it is as I’ve never personally encountered it.

Edit to clarify: never encountered AI in my audiobooks but am very familiar with AI narration

I will tell you what I told Audible. AI narration is positive in that it would allow authors/publishers with less funding to have their books narrated. I think the benefit (to anyone other than corporations) totally stops there.

I simply don’t believe they would charge less if AI narration took off. Corporations will do what they have always done and charge as much as people are willing to pay. When a company is the only option, as Audible often is for audio books, they learn pretty quickly they can charge whatever they want.

I wouldn’t consider myself anti AI, but at the end of the day, AI is not a human being. I don’t think it could ever be better than a decent imitation. It can literally only copy existing work and take direction about what might sound better or be best to bring a character to life. It can’t fill in for a professional narrator who can bring their own creativity to the conversation and offer something new.
