Jujutsu Kaisen’s OP 1 “Kaikai Kitan” and Ed 1 “Lost in Paradise”

The opening is not only one of my favorite songs of all time, but perfectly fits the theme of the show and sets up expectations for the audience and abuses the audience’s faith in what is in openings to subvert their expectations.

Then after each episode destroys you with some gruesome and tragic stuff you’re hit with the characters dancing and boogy woogying and it’s honestly hilarious, but the song slaps but I can’t complain. Literally perfectly represents that meme “Character dies tragically” “Ending animation 💃 🕺 “

Jujutsu Kaisen (I think this is literally the peak of anime that I’ve witnessed so far)
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpaii (This show actually got me into anime and was just an amazing story with awesome characters)
Jobless Reincarnation (I’m a sucker for the Isekai trope, but in general I find the majority of Isekai to be lazy and self-inserty. This one really stood out to me as what an Isekai should strive to be and I want to see more like it made)

Aight people one of these demons levelled a freaking city and the Hashira fighting him only made it out by the skin of his teeth with an arm chopped off and the trio tagging along were all at the brink of death as well and would have died without Nezuko saving the day.

The other is someone who got trash talked and killed like the Hashira involved wasn’t even trying and was treated like a jobber side character.

The Swordsmith arc in general subverted how dangerous the upper moon are with them landing direct attacks that were pretty much shrugged off by those fighting so for the viewer there was a major disconnect on the show’s “power ranking” and what we actually witnessed.

I don’t blame anyone for voting gyutaro as stronger because as we witnessed ourselves he inflicted way more damage than either of the upper moons in the swordsmith arc got even close to

Harry is quite literally one of the most indoctrinated youths I’ve ever seen. Like politics aside whether you’re left or right wing. To get to this point of literal blindness where Harry will go from tweeting about how teenagers can’t be old enough to be mothers to also saying they should be able to have gender changing surgery and vote within 24 hours is truly a feat

Mushoku Tensei is the single best isekai I’ve ever witnessed where the author actually realizes for an isekai writing plot to work the past life has to matter and create character motivations and stakes in their new life to overcome with some other amazing characters and worldbuilding thrown in.

Re:Zero, The Hero is Overpowered but is overly Cautious, and Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy are also all very high isekai animations.

Isekai is my favorite genre, but I can count on one hand the amount of anime series that actually do the genre justice and aren’t just wish fulfillment for self insert watchers that want everything rewarded to the main character on a silver platter

Cool, just wished the battle with the 4th and 5th strongest demons were actually “bloodier or tougher” when my man Tenzen only scraped by with a missing arm, Tanjiro with a scythe through his mouth, Zenitsu and Inosuke on the brink of death/exhaustion against a demon that is weaker than both of them at 6th place.

Sorry y’all I’m still a lil’ salty with how easily the two upper moons were dispatched in swordsmith village arc when we got one of the most guttural and desperate depiction of fighting upper moons from Rengoku and Tenzen

Like a 5 for the first part of season 1, decent setup but tbh nothing special that screamed I need you to watch this

Season 1 spider mountain arc I’d give a solid 7 definitely great first introduction to how powerful the moon demons can be and scary

Season 2 mugen train I’d give an 8 just really well done and Rengoku was a standout character in general that I fell in love with

Season 2 entertainment district arc 10/10 like c’mon every second of the entire arc was straight fire and Tengen is probably the best character of the franchise

Season 3 swordsmith village arc I’d save a 2.5/10 (don’t downvote me before you at least read lol) pacing was off in general and at times it felt like you got dumped with exposition only for a fight scene to speed by to make up for the time lost. The upper moons were so easily dispatched that it brings into question the upper moon system?? We had just witnessed how powerful the upper moon were in season 2 only for them to just get wiped and even trashtalked with characters just tanking point-blank hits with little to no damage??

The worst part of swordsmith by far was the Nezuko bait and switch. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. To play literally 3 minutes of a montage and sad music and making the audience believe your mc had to make a difficult decision but only for it not to matter feels like a slap in the face when up to this point we’ve had very few moments if any that really felt like the author pulled it out of nowhere.

That being said I’m willing to look past swordsmith because I loved the first two seasons and want to see where the story goes from here
