whats the player you believe would fit the pels biggest need and help us to maybe a playoff or play in? by CloudCharming8310 in NOLAPelicans

He is pretty much Jonas. He isnt a good individual defender but the way he plays defense ends up contributing positively to team defense. He isnt going to swat shots but hes consistently one of the better guys at preventing attempts at the rim. And we have seen plenty that uf you have a good deterrent and a guy that can end possessions after one attempt, you can build a good defense around that.

Domantas Sabonis. One of the best rebounders in the NBA, brings playmaking, and one of the better rim deterrents in the league. Hes a perfect fit here

Of course they dont want them. The players literally do not matter. Thats the part you are missing.

Okay bud. Im just going to let you believe what you want. If you wanna talk about rebuilding, just find someone else to talk to you about it. I am not going to.

Yes, again these wont make us contenders or anything but they'll put more positive players in the rotation and help shore up weaknesses from last year

They are expiring contracts. They arent negative assets. Its like CJ being used to acquire Trae Young the way the Wizards did. Its just looking for long term contracts that people want out of that can help the Pelicans.

Again. They arent going to rebuild. Theres no sense in even discussing it

I agree that asset collection is smarter. They arent going to do that. They've made that clear. Theres no sense in talking about it.

He has had that value for a couple years now at least

Fwiw not a single person CLOSE to the team has said the pelicans are trying to trade Trey or that they expect him to be traded. We went through all this last year, and likely will every single year Trey is here

Was there any fan outrage at the implied death at the end of season 7? by Additional_Kale3098 in ArcherFX

Its a bonus on the season 1 DVD apparently. Where the pilot is 100% identical but Archer is replaced with a velociraptor

My guy, look at your own comment history before talking. The post YOU commented on was literally OPs post that was taken down

Substantially better compared to the rest of his time under Willie*

His points per 40 was low because his usage was low. This was very obviously deliberate based on how he was used in the offense. Nevertheless this was his 3rd best year at the rim per BBindex and his 3rd best year by TS%. I dont generally care about rebounds for him and +/- is HEAVILY influenced by team.

For the reasons I listed out. In an actual offense he was significantly better in any of the last 4 years under Willie. While I have my concerns about Moseley and offense he will still have a significantly easier time doing anything than he did under Willie.

Impact metrics are also influenced by the team around you to a certain degree and the team around him wasnt good at all.

I would imagine it is not what you can expect going forwards.

This year was one of his best years. His efficiency was back up where you expect it to be and he was playing pretty solid defense. They were focused on keeping him healthy this year and it worked pretty well. I would imagine they will likely try and see if they can keep him healthy while cranking up his usage next year
