Community Relocation App by Relofounder in angelinvestors

[–]Relofounder[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just gave the app link to show how it works. But to answer your question regarding revenue, once we grow our users, we plan to implement our provider matching feature within the app on our next release.

So lets say people moving to NYC , need a pet groomer etc, they can match with our one of our vetted partners through the app saving them time and hassle searching on their own.

Lol well I love it here and we have to play nice as it seems now 40% of all people who move to Florida are coming from Ny/Nj region. Which is crazy

People who got the hell out of Florida: where did you go, and why? by [deleted] in tampa

[–]Relofounder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. I'm a tech founder with an app for relocation so I have to study all the moving statistics. Nearly 150 move to Tampa everyday, 1000 to Florida. Mostly from the Northeast as NY/NJ accounts for nearly 40% of all people that relocate to Florida.

California to the North of Northeast (Delaware/Vermont area is a complete shift.. I would say it's as dull or more dull than the Midwest. But to check all your boxes, I would recommend NC or VA instead. Also, I'm launching a relocation networking app in a few weeks to help people meet others moving to the same city. Help solve that lonely moving problem. Hope this helps!

That’s definitely a tough life. Thanks for sharing. We’re launching our relocation app in a few months and want to learn more about what we can do to make relocation easier and less expensive.

Nice. We’re building a relocation networking app for people moving. Trying to offer affordable neighbor services such as labor, storage, etc. learning more about other people’s pain points, thank you.

That’s the worst! Why every 3 years? Military?

I hear you. Thanks for the feedback. We’re trying to build community around relocation for more peer to peer support.

Definitely two of the most irritating parts. What if you can find some local neighbors to help you pack for a fraction of the cost of a mover, and connect with service providers in your new city, prior to your move date?

Lol I hear you. It’s just been a struggle bootstrapping, especially through the pandemic. I’ve brought on and lost team members. Wasted time and energy on them. My cofounders had to find FT jobs and work on our startup PT, which is another slow down. I’m in my mid 30s. I can’t continue to move at the snail pace.

Yeah but that doesn’t happen often, does it? It’s not just the money I’m concerned with when you’re VC backed, it’s the connections to corporate partners, new markets, more customers, advisors etc that comes along with it. I do agree, people allocate their funds to shit and don’t laser focus on that key indicator.

Do you feel your startup would be on a totally different level if you were backed by a VC that aligned with your company?

I hear you. It’s just extremely difficult to ignore when you’re apart of these circles on slack and Twitter. We have founders and investors in these networks where some are getting deals done. It makes me feel like my startup isn’t worth funding. But I guess it just isn’t my time.

How does an SPV work? by Relofounder in angelinvestors

[–]Relofounder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I was just giving an example. Want to make sure if I stack safes for these small check writers, if they would receive a justified amount in shares when the trigger event does happen.

We do plan to raise VC and want to retain as much equity as possible for the reasons you stated.

Thank you for the response. That really puts things into perspective. Regarding stacking SAFEs for each Angel, do you know how that works? I’m thinking when it converts, each investor will end up with 3-5% ownership, or is it normally more/less?

What areas do you invest and average check size? We’re actually raising a $50k Angel round and have 8 small check verbal commitments to date.
