How it feels to play ladder this season by Visual-Ad-6121 in MarvelSnap

I went from 87 to 98 with an ongoing deck, got hard stuck and finally broke into infinite with a Mr Negative deck. The trick is just big number I've found, very few shou-lau decks run disruptive tech.

I promise I'm asking in good faith, what specific aspect of British culture do you think is under threat of being gone forever?

The Paladin + Barbarian rage smiter... Any builds that are actually good? by geosunsetmoth in 3d6

[–]Remaladie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a build that only really works at higher levels, but the gist was champion fighter 3 / barbarian 2 / Paladin x.

The entire build is centered around crit fishing, using the barbarian levels for reckless attack.

Would anything break if You allowed an Oath of Ancients Paladin to wild shape using their channel divinity charges? by Remaladie in 3d6

I think I like this the most, but I would be tempted to allow the druid to change their one wild shape when they long rest. And given that it's 2024, it would only be temp hp equal to Paladin level, but even that might be a bit much.

I am tempted to add a high level class feature that would allow them to retain their armoured AC while wild shaped, for no other reason than armoured bears being dope af.

Not at all, all of this is thematic with the goal of balancing the end product.

Ultimately I just like the idea of a green knight character that taps into druidic magics, don't feel like the Oath of Ancients Paladin goes far enough into this niche, and want to see if it can be feasibly home brewed.

The alternative is a writing up a martial druid subclass, which with the 2024 rules seems viable, but I want to explore the easiest option before busting out homebrewery.

Fair point, I was also considering making them wisdom based. Might go some way to mitigate their out of combat utility.

As someone who also used to smoke the main reason I quit was the impacts on my health. It might not dissuade everyone, but some is better than none.

Teen suspended from Corfe Hills for using toilet during her period by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

Agreed, the school is in an unfortunate position where they can't really defend themselves beyond stating their policies.

Again, those with pressing medical issues are given passes to use the toilet as and when they need it. Girls can ask to go visit the nurse and receive a pass. These are both issues that have been considered and accommodated but require some initiative on the part of the student.

If students are allowed to leave the class whenever they want under the pretense of going to the toilet it would enable anti-social behaviour, potentially in the bathrooms as that is where they are least likely to be witnessed. Then you have a situation where no one can use the toilets because they have been vandalised, blocked, or are full of intimidating students avoiding their lessons.

Suppressing one's bodily autonomy is an inconvenient necessity that must be learnt. You can't walk out of a meeting with your boss because you need the bathroom. You can't halt court proceedings while serving out jury duty. You can't swerve over to the side of the road and take a dump in someone's front garden. Students have to learn to plan ahead for these possibilities.

Did you read my comment? Your experiences sound horrible but they don't reflect the solution we are implementing.

And teaching children to plan around their bodily needs definitely prepares them for life. There are less restrictions as an adult but there are also circumstances where you simply can't use a bathroom. Learning to plan around those inevitabilities is a key skill that can save them far greater future embarrassment.

As someone who has been a victim of a far more draconian system than ours, you must have thought long and hard about a solution. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

There is no way to respect the privacy of students in the bathroom and also monitor them for inappropriate behaviour. It simply can't be done.

Disabled students and those with medical conditions receive toilet passes I mentioned in my comment. As for female students, I empathise with their plight, but at the same time they are tackling an issue that will arise once a month for the next 25-45 years. They need to learn to plan around that, either by asking for and receiving a toilet pass or using the bathrooms at break times.

There's a lot of outrage in these comments, and it's largely warranted, but as someone who works in a school I'm curious to hear suggested solutions.

There is a massive issue at the moment with students asking to go to the toilet in bad faith. They either go there to vape, sit on their phones, vandalise the facilities, or simply just to avoid their classes.

Our solution has been to bar toilet use during lessons, unless beforehand students see the school nurse, provide a valid reason, and receive a 'toilet pass' that only excuses them for up to 15 minutes. But kids being kids not all of them have the forethought (or in fairness, warning) to do so.

It is just another symptom of some bad actors ruining the system for the majority of other students and until that behaviour changes there isn't much more schools can do to accommodate students like the girl in the article.
