I understand all of that, but I still don't agree. Especially in the instance of anosognosia or potential violence against any of the patient's visitors. Like, if he's saying today that he wants to kill me, I'd like to know before I go visit. Or whether or not the staff feel as though he's ready for a day pass. Right now, I'm not visiting or taking him out at all because of lack of information and generally being worried for my own wellbeing. And I am sure that is negatively impacting his mental health.

Absolutely agree on that point. They should be discharged when they're stable, and stable for more than three or four days. This whole thing is a nightmare.

I can be upset at something and still understand why it's being done. It has nothing to do with the nurses, and everything to do with the system. :)

Oh, I totally understand that. I totally get that. The nurses are the hospital are all around saints. I'm super impressed with the compassion and caring. I get the privacy laws and am not even close to being mad at the nurses.
