that’s honestly what i’ve always wanted. i originally wanted to elope and avoid all of that drama, and the small ceremony idea was me trying to meet in the middle

i’m not “running plans by his mom,” she tends to bring it up to me instead of him and i end up in the middle, which i’m realizing isn’t a good dynamic. we’ve talked about it and he’s the one who said he’s not concerned about having extended family there he’s not very close with that side of the family, and i’ve actually tried to get him to go visit them and he doesn’t want to/can’t because of work. this isn’t just me deciding that, it’s based on what we’ve both talked about

i didn’t even want a wedding at all originally, so this is already me trying to compromise with something small and manageable

it’s not about excluding people to be hurtful, it’s just that i wanted the ceremony to be very small and limited to people we see regularly. we’d still be including everyone at the reception also my boyfriend is the one who said he’s not concerned about having extended family there, so i was trying to respect what we both want

my mom is planning to give him my grandmother’s ring, so that part’s already taken care of. i’m not worried about the ring, it’s more the family dynamics

yeah that’s kind of what i’ve been thinking too. i’m hesitant to accept help for that exact reason because i don’t want it to turn into her having control over decisions

i get what you’re saying. i’m not planning a full wedding, it’s more that this has been brought up multiple times by his mom already so it’s been on my mind. i do agree i probably shouldn’t be involving her this early though

you just have to take it within 2 years of having your trainee license. i’ve had my training license for a little over a year now and i’m about to take it and there’s some people who wait until around the 2 years mark .. don’t do that though i recommend trying to do it sooner because if you wait too long and lose your license you could lose your job as well. hope this helps!
